Eight-Tailed Dragon Spear
The Eight-Tailed Dragon Spear is Yu IlHan’s principal dragon-slaying weapon through much of his rise. It houses Orochi’s thought-soul and combines extreme piercing power with fire, poison, and specialized power against dragonkin.
History
Orochi’s rebirth as a spear
Yu IlHan creates the spear by soul-enchanting Orochi into a reconstructed weapon. The result lengthens the shaft, sharpens and purples the spearhead, and reaches Epic rank. Its name preserves Orochi’s identity, while the bond lets Yu IlHan and the resident soul focus their will through a single strike. (Chapter 108)
Weapon against monsters and higher existences
The spear becomes Yu IlHan’s default weapon for difficult opponents. It pierces underwater enemies, channels purple flame and Blaze, withstands extreme heat, and splits its head into eight blades. Its strongest specialty is dragon slaying, eventually raising Yu IlHan’s damage against dragonkin by 120 percent. (Chapters 130, 146, 174, and 243–246)
Orochi can leave and return to the spear as a thought-soul, using it as a safe vessel while consuming other souls. The weapon is later mounted within the Infernal Dragon Body so that the armor adds part of its defense to the spear’s attack. (Chapters 207, 224)
Absorption into a dragon body
When Yu IlHan forges Orochi a complete body, he melts the spear together with half of the Infernal Dragon Body and other draconic materials. Orochi moves into the remaining armor before the spear breaks and is absorbed; its abilities subsequently manifest through his new body. (Chapters 279–280, 302)
Abilities and properties
- Its base attack power is stated as 7,000 before conditional bonuses. (Chapter 114)
- The spear generates purple flame, poisonous fog, and an eight-bladed enlarged form. (Chapters 131, 134, and 146)
- It greatly amplifies damage against dragonkin but performs below its full rank against other targets. (Chapters 110–111, 243)
- Its soul enchantment permits direct coordination between Yu IlHan and Orochi. (Chapters 147, 179, and 224)
