Uriel

Uriel is one of Heaven’s former Four Great Archangels, a wielder of holy fire, and the first of that group to openly join Yu IlHan’s Dragon’s Nest.

Biography

A hidden rebel inside Heaven

Uriel was one of the five angels who learned that God intended to negate mana and destroy the existing worlds. Although her standing as a Great Archangel had been built within his system, she chose the existing worlds over obedience. She joined Lucifer, Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael in a secret revolt. Gabriel first restricted God; the others then fought him for days, with Uriel’s fire repeatedly burning the body they had once considered absolute. Michael finally pierced him and used his own talent to take away much of God’s power, then divided that impossible burden among his accomplices. (Chapters 344 and 375–376)

The victory was incomplete. God escaped, Lucifer left Heaven, and the surviving conspirators could not safely expose what had happened. Uriel therefore remained within Heaven’s Army while Gabriel constructed the Garden of Sunset and prepared for the enemy’s eventual return. Her continued service was not renewed faith in God: it was a long deception maintained among angels who still believed they were receiving divine orders. She also retained a portion of the stolen power, which left her stronger but still connected to the system they had rebelled against. (Chapters 344 and 375–378)

Choosing Gabriel and Dragon’s Nest

Uriel entered the open conflict as Heaven’s representative, finding Yu IlHan in a remote world by covering the area with holy fire and reading the response. Her official position made her a useful intermediary, but she quickly disclosed that Gabriel had asked her to accompany his son. She criticized Yu IlHan’s excessive confidence while also recognizing the responsibility beneath it: unlike Michael, he gathered power in order to protect a growing domain rather than to force every faction under a single order. She guided him to Gabriel and entered Daréu with them, choosing their side before Heaven’s internal fracture became public. (Chapters 316–320)

That choice did not by itself make her free. Uriel understood that the Legnae within angels and the traces of God in her stolen power could still be used against her. Yu IlHan therefore placed her in the Cradle of Miracles, stripping away her angelic constitution and rebuilding it as a dragon. The process did more than change her faction label: it converted the power she had taken from God into her own draconic record, severed the vulnerable divine connection, and raised her as an eighth-class dragon with four pairs of wings. Uriel then returned to Heaven not as an invader hiding her identity but as a living witness. Before the assembled angels, she revealed her dragon wings, confirmed that God had long been absent, and explained that the orders sustaining Heaven’s war were part of a tyrant’s system. Her former rank gave the testimony weight that Yu IlHan’s enemies could not dismiss as hostile propaganda. Ordinary angels and Archangels stopped to listen, forcing Michael to answer the accusation himself. He rejected her, declared that his light should replace God, and attacked; Uriel opposed the comrade she had once trusted and became one of Dragon’s Nest’s highest-class defenders through Harmageddon. The promise after Harmageddon

Uriel’s love for Gabriel predated both rebellions. She had waited through an immense span of time while he built the Garden of Sunset, descended into a human life, and formed a family with Kim YeSeul. Victory did not erase that history, so Uriel addressed it directly rather than treating YeSeul as an enemy to be removed. The resulting household was unconventional but consensual: Gabriel, YeSeul, and Uriel held a shared wedding, and Uriel later had a daughter, Yu Isu. Her postwar life thus supplies the personal future for which her rebellion had been fought—a family chosen outside God’s prescribed order. (Extra Chapters 1–3; Chapters 359 and 377)

Appearance and personality

Uriel appears as a striking woman with white-blond hair and golden eyes. As a Great Archangel she carries the radiant presence expected of Heaven’s highest servants. After her rebirth, four pairs of dragon wings visibly mark both her eighth-class status and the fact that she has abandoned Heaven’s system; the mana behind them is large enough to make her declaration before the angels impossible to dismiss. She is formal, conscientious, and unusually willing to state an unwelcome conclusion in public. Uriel can be severe when judging arrogance or betrayal, yet her criticism of Yu IlHan is paired with an accurate recognition of his motives. Her long patience with Gabriel coexists with emotional directness once the war ends: she neither hides her devotion nor pretends that his human family does not matter. In battle and politics alike, she is most effective when conviction, status, and personal loyalty point in the same direction. (Chapters 317–322 and Extra Chapters 1–3)

Abilities and classes

Holy fire and secondary earth power

Fire is Uriel’s defining element. She can spread holy flame across an entire world to search for a hidden target, using whatever reacts to or survives the burn to narrow that target’s location. The scale makes it useful for detection, area denial, and war against massed higher existences as well as direct damage. She openly rates Michael’s flame above her own before his later transcendence, however, and Yu IlHan’s superior control of fire means that elemental force alone is not a reliable answer to him. Uriel also possesses a lesser affinity with earth, giving her another means of attack or restraint, but she herself does not consider it decisive against an enemy on Yu IlHan’s level. (Chapter 317)

Her fire remains dangerous at divine scale. In the first rebellion it repeatedly damaged God while Gabriel’s restriction kept him from simply escaping, and during the final war she again contributes as one of the few combatants able to confront the highest existences directly. The power is therefore exceptional, not unlimited: it achieves its best results as part of a coordinated assault in which another power controls the target or creates an opening. Great Archangel record and resistance

As one of the Four Great Archangels, Uriel stands above ordinary seventh-class angels in mana, durability, elemental control, and control over her own information. Great Archangels do not leak their records as readily as lesser angels, making it difficult even for other seventh-class beings to learn their full capabilities through observation. Her rank also gives her long combat experience and enough independence to recognize false divine orders. It does not initially grant freedom from God: the Legnae and the portion of divine power she carries remain channels through which their creator may interfere. (Chapters 317 and 321)

Eighth-class dragon rebirth

The Cradle converts Uriel from a Great Archangel into an eighth-class dragon. Her four pairs of dragon wings express the new record, while the divine power taken in the ancient revolt is incorporated into a constitution no longer founded on angelhood. This both raises her beyond her former class and removes the structural dependency that made an angel vulnerable to God. She retains her accumulated experience and immense mana, but now operates under Dragon’s Nest and Yu IlHan’s system rather than Heaven’s. The transformation is not a technique she can repeat at will; it depends on the Cradle, Yu IlHan’s craftsmanship, and the extraordinary power already lodged within her. (Chapters 321–322 and 340)

Authority, testimony, and coalition warfare

Uriel’s rank is a noncombat capability as important as her flame. Because she helped lead Heaven and personally participated in the first rebellion, she can authenticate claims that hostile angels would reject from Gabriel’s faction. Her public testimony interrupts Heaven’s attack and makes angels question both the absent God and Michael’s claim to succession. This influence is evidentiary rather than mind control: Michael and those committed to him can still refuse her conclusion. In coordinated battle, the same clear judgment lets her operate beside former enemies and Dragon’s Nest forces without confusing loyalty with blind obedience. (Chapters 322–324)
