Raphael is one of Heaven’s Four Great Archangels and the faction’s preeminent healer. His decision to tolerate Yu IlHan’s covert purge of traitors creates a brief alignment between them before Raphael dies defending Michael.

Biography

The purge at Feira

Raphael arrives in Feira while Yu IlHan is killing angels whom his Record identifies as traitors. Reasoning that only a potential faction leader could alter angelic records so completely, Raphael tests the hidden attacker with detection magic. When he cannot find Yu IlHan, he orders every angel to remain still, preventing the traitors from escaping and allowing the purge to continue. (Chapters 290–291)

Raphael then seizes the world’s mana to cancel the traitors’ warp magic and creates a weapon from that same power. His conduct is calm but ruthless: once convinced that the victims truly are traitors, he considers their deaths beneficial to Heaven’s Army. (Chapter 291)

Clash with Dragon’s Nest

Raphael later accompanies Michael in the battle among the higher factions. He heals Michael with power unmatched by other seventh-class beings, then attacks Yu IlHan with wind after Michael is wounded again. Yu IlHan’s Transcendent Trajectory pierces Raphael and Keshein in the same exchange, and Yu IlHan kills the gravely injured archangel with a final strike. (Chapters 293–296)

Records left behind

Raphael’s remains become a major source of information. Yu IlHan’s later analysis indicates that Michael stole Raphael’s share of God’s power during the healing exchange, leaving Raphael without the regeneration he expected to save him. Appearance and personality

Raphael has white wings, feathers, and blood characteristic of his angelic body. He usually presents a composed, smiling face, but can become frighteningly cold when enforcing his orders. Great Archangel healing

Raphael is Heaven’s foremost seventh-class healer. He can restore Michael during combat and possesses self-regeneration far beyond that of ordinary beings in the same class, allowing him to expect recovery even after catastrophic injury. Healing is not instantaneous invulnerability: Yu IlHan’s Transcendent Trajectory leaves damage severe enough to require Raphael’s missing divine share, and a final attack kills him before the restoration he anticipates can occur. In Feira, Raphael takes command of the world’s surrounding mana. He uses it as a detection field against concealment, denies the traitors the mana needed for warp magic, produces shockwaves, and forms a weapon from the seized energy. The method is strongest when sufficient ambient mana is available and Raphael has time to establish authority over it; even then, Yu IlHan’s concealment resists his search. (Chapters 290–291)

Wind offense and angelic endurance

Raphael can turn wind into direct higher-existence attacks and continue fighting after his wings are badly damaged. White wings provide angelic flight and form part of a body durable enough to remain active through the opening exchange with Dragon’s Nest. That endurance has a firm limit once Transcendent Trajectory pierces him and Keshein together. His confidence in regeneration shapes his decision to continue, but without the power Michael has taken, injury and a finishing blow remain fatal. (Chapters 294–296)
