Silver Edge

The Silver Edge is Reishi Senyu's enchanted merchant vessel. Smaller than some ships Flynn Rilei has sailed on but markedly faster, it moves Reishi, Flynn, Kai Tylenn, and their cargo between Higharbor and Sylspring.

History

A swift return to Sylspring

Flynn first travels aboard the Silver Edge when he and Kai accompany Reishi toward Sylspring. The silver-sailed vessel glides smoothly enough to change Flynn's view of sea travel, although returning to his old home remains emotionally difficult. Its speed reduces the expected passage to roughly two days, and its extensive enchantments fascinate passengers who are unused to a vessel whose hull and deck shimmer with organized mana lines. Reishi's working showpiece

At Sylspring, the crew furls the sails, guides the vessel into its berth, and secures it while Reishi watches that the hull is not scratched. He jokes that owning a fine ship would be pointless if he could not show it to friends, while Kai answers that moving goods and earning money are its obvious purposes. The same vessel carries them back to Higharbor and remains in service when Kai and Flynn disembark at the capital's docks. (Chapters 181 and 186–187)

• A web of bright enchantment lines covers the hull and deck, supporting movement that is exceptionally smooth and fast for the ship's size. (Chapter 180)
