Kai's Spatial Ring

Kai's spatial ring is a roughly worked silver band given to Kai Tylenn by Elijah Lockhart Greaves. Its deliberately cheap appearance and suppressed mana signature conceal a true-spatial compartment that becomes Kai's principal store for weapons, research, wealth, and emergency supplies.

History

Elijah's parting gift

Elijah gives Kai the ring on the mentors' final night at the hidden estate. The band initially looks like common, poorly polished silver and appears inert to Mana Sense, but a thread of Kai's mana opens the impression of a small closet in a separate subspace. Elijah has already placed Kai's sword inside, while Theodora adds potions. He also warns Kai not to remove or lose it because Kai would have no practical way to replace an artifact so rare in the archipelago. (Chapter 102)

After the estate disappears, the ring and its contents prove that the farewell was real rather than imagined. Kai rapidly incorporates the compartment into daily life, concealing pearl profits, books, enchanted equipment, alchemical stock, and the Fate Fulcrum. Its secrecy is part of its protection: he avoids activating it around merchants or officials and reveals it selectively to people he trusts, because discovery would invite questions about both the artifact's value and his missing teachers. Essential equipment and academy confiscation

The ring repeatedly lets Kai move bulky evidence, conceal weapons until a decisive moment, and recover possessions officials try to hold. Its closet still contains his Sanctuary resources after his return, and it survives the Limgrell cult confrontation with everything intact. The convenience also becomes a dependency; much of Kai's field planning assumes he can retrieve a blade, potion, notebook, or tool without carrying visible luggage. Raelion Academy removes the ring at the beginning of the midterm Trials to equalize student equipment. Kai is told it will remain confiscated until the Trials end, leaving him without the stored resources during the cavern test. Through Chapter 354 he continues noticing situations where the ring would have helped, and the supplied corpus ends before its return is shown. (Chapters 351 and 354)

Abilities and properties

• A small flow of Kai's mana links him to a separate closet-like subspace from which objects can be inserted or materialized. Unlike an enlarged bag, the contents add no carried weight. (Chapter 102)
• The compartment can hold weapons, books, harvested materials, money, clothing, potions, and other supplies, although its exact dimensions and maximum load are not numerically stated. (Chapters 102–103, 164, and 245)
• Kai can expel the air and treat the closed space like a vacuum seal, protecting clothes and notebooks from water or wrinkling. Living storage is not established as safe. (Chapter 164)
• The artifact disguises itself as mundane silver even to mana perception. Its concealment reduces attention but does not help if Kai visibly stores or retrieves an object. (Chapter 102)
• The ring can be removed and externally held, as the academy does, cutting Kai off from the contents until it is returned. (Chapter 351)
