Telu is a Sylspring child who befriends Kai during the children's ceremony and later works in his grandmother Selly's herb shop. The Ceremony to Best Birthday Ever

Telu meets Kai Tylenn during the children's ceremony, attempts a mainland-style handshake, and attaches himself to the unusually quiet boy. Kai catches him when he slips on the roots, and Telu responds by following him through the root maze and trying to console him after the ceremony appears to reject him. His constant questions and local gossip sometimes test Kai's patience, but the chatter also fills an anxious wait and gives both children companionship in a ritual whose rules they barely understand. Their friendship continues through ordinary island life. Telu helps clean and serve in Sylphie's Herbs under his grandmother, fetches a paid package for Theodora, and later accompanies Selly to a merchant negotiation. By then he has grown taller and leaner while retaining his familiar bowl cut; his awkward admission that he misses Kai's visits shows that the ceremony friendship matters beyond convenience. Kai says goodbye before leaving the archipelago, and Selly later explains that Telu is away apprenticing with a merchant, shifting his future from childhood shop chores toward a trade. The reconciled ledger identifies the unnamed teenage assistant serving customers at Sylphie's Herbs as Telu when Kai revisits the shop. It therefore supports his latest location and work only through that reconciliation; it does not establish the apprenticeship's duration, his formal rank, or whether he has completed it. Appearance and personality

As a child, Telu is chubby and wears his hair in a bowl cut. When Kai meets him again years later, he is taller and leaner but keeps the same haircut, making him immediately recognizable. The Chapter 241 shop assistant is a teenager wearing enchanted spectacles; because that passage is unnamed, the glasses and later appearance depend on the ledger's identification rather than an explicit in-scene introduction.
