Shilla

Shilla is the High Dark Elf called the Moon Queen, leader of Chrisley's village, lover of Aojin, and mother of Chrisley. She disappears soon after Chrisley's birth and dies fighting a curse associated with the Shadow Emperor. The dark spirits later auction her frozen body to Randalph Brigsiel, but its curse remains unbroken through her latest reference.

Biography

Queen, mother, and the dark elves' failed miracle

Shilla leads Julliom and Chrisley's persecuted village despite being strong enough to live near a world tree. The dark elves hope her union with the True Demonic Dragon Aojin will produce a miraculous future for their people, but their daughter inherits incompatible lunar and solar powers that instead threaten her life. Shilla disappears shortly after the birth, leaving the village to believe she is dead and Chrisley with almost no direct knowledge or memory of her mother. Her blood nevertheless remains central to Chrisley's later awakening and balanced power. (Chapters 33–47, 72–80, and 161)

A body imprisoned by the Shadow Emperor's curse

Decades of investigation lead the dark spirits to Shilla's corpse, frozen inside ice whose curse is comparable to Aojin's power. Auction testimony says she fought the curse and died, while Mind's Eye confirms death, an unknown cursed status, and strength continuing to accumulate in her heart. Randalph buys the body for twelve million points, partly for Chrisley and partly to investigate the force behind it. He considers undead revival, but correctly recognizes that it could erase Shilla's memories or personality. Later evidence identifies the Shadow Emperor as the source, and Oswen still cannot melt the ice by Chapter 225; Shilla is never revived. (Chapters 161–175 and 225)

Appearance and personality

Shilla is a beautiful dark-elf woman with pure white hair and a crescent-moon mark on her forehead. At the auction her body is motionless inside magically charged ice. The corpus preserves no direct dialogue, internal thought, or living scene from which to establish her temperament. Her decision to remain with Chrisley's village despite qualification for life near a world tree suggests responsibility toward her people, but her exact motives and feelings are not stated. Abilities and powers

Shilla is identified as a rare High Dark Elf and third-level high-class creature, one of only a few to appear in a century. Her blood has the nature of the moon, contrasted with Aojin's sun, and gives Chrisley immense magic potential, sensitivity to opposed energies, and later Queen of the Sun and Moon. These effects demonstrate the inheritance's significance but do not reveal Shilla's personal skill names, activation methods, combat applications, or limits. (Chapters 33–47, 72–76, and 161)

The ice curse is not Shilla's own ability. It seals her corpse, holds power comparable to Aojin's, and contains an unidentified accumulation in her heart. Strong curses could theoretically make a powerful undead, but Randalph never completes that process and Oswen cannot remove the ice. Accordingly, Shilla's latest power state is inaccessible and unknown rather than an active cursed transformation. (Chapters 161–166 and 225)

Relationships

• Aojin: Shilla's lover and solar counterpart. Their daughter inherits both of their opposed powers.
• Chrisley: Shilla disappears soon after giving birth, leaving Chrisley to know her chiefly through lineage and the later discovery of her corpse.
• Julliom: Shilla leads the village to which Julliom belongs; he preserves knowledge of Chrisley's parentage after her disappearance.
• Randalph Brigsiel: He buys Shilla's body to keep it from rival necromancers, protect Chrisley's interest, and investigate the curse, but does not revive her.
• Oswen: The blacksmith investigates the frozen corpse but has not found a way to melt its ice by the latest reference.
