Pakan Griolli
Pakan Griolli is a Demon Duke, wolf lord, and fiercely obedient lieutenant of Upa Bullenon. Upa sacrifices his standing at the Spirit World Auction, then leaves him to face the Infinite Flesh attack on his Saudi dungeon. Pakan destroys that threat only by exhausting his forces and losing the dungeon barrier; Randalph Brigsiel later kills him in the ensuing human raid, and Krasla beheads the body to prevent a possible revival. (Chapters 27–32, 61–71, and 101–108)
Biography
Upa's wolf and the auction ban
Pakan enters the first Spirit World Auction as one of Upa's three dukes and master of the barren Griolli land. He is a powerful wolf warrior but a poor diplomat: when Upa orders him to obstruct Randalph, Pakan insults the spirits, refuses to respect unfamiliar authority, and earns a ban from the auction. His fiery obedience lets Upa avoid confronting Randalph personally, yet it also makes Pakan the easiest subordinate to blame when the faction needs permission to return. (Chapters 27–32)
Upa eventually places responsibility for the disruption entirely on Pakan and sacrifices him politically to restore his own access. Other demons recognize that Pakan probably acted only because Upa told him to and that the grand duke feels little compassion for the follower who accepted the risk. Pakan remains aligned with Upa regardless, demonstrating a loyalty founded more on simple submission and pride than reciprocal protection. (Chapters 61–71)
The Infinite Flesh siege
Randalph sends Infinite Flesh to Pakan's Saudi Arabian dungeon as part of a broader strategy against Upa. Pakan mobilizes every available creature while the entity consumes the barrier, fighting without rest for roughly two months and spending thousands of lives and all remaining points. He finally destroys the apparent invader, but the victory removes the dungeon's protective structure and leaves his army depleted, converting a successful hunt into strategic ruin. (Chapters 101 and 106–107)
Without the barrier, thirty-seven floors compress into four and 671 creatures die where spaces overlap. Pakan's authority and core weaken, surviving creatures are forced into the open, and an international Awakened force enters the exposed dungeon. His contempt for humans prevents him from treating the raid as an equal threat until it has advanced far enough to make the collapse irreversible. The siege thus defeats him through attrition and consequences even after he wins its direct battle. (Chapters 106–107)
The Last Wolf
Pakan personally enters the fighting and tears through Awakened with claws, teeth, and afterimage-producing speed, badly threatening Yoo Eun-hye and Edward. Randalph then arrives and uses the duel to practice dual-sword combat. Pakan invokes The Last Wolf, changing into a dignified three-meter blue wolf, but the transformation cannot reverse his lost infrastructure or close the gap between them. Randalph severs a leg and pierces his heart as the dungeon finishes collapsing. (Chapter 108)
Pakan returns to humanoid form dead, and Krasla removes his head as a precaution against the advanced restoration implied by his abilities. The attack therefore achieves Randalph's objective: Infinite Flesh strips the dungeon's defenses and resources, human pressure compounds the damage, and Randalph kills the exhausted master. Later accounts consistently treat Pakan as dead and use the destruction of his dungeon as an example of how losing central dungeon authority can collapse its floors. (Chapters 108, 115, 153, and 172)
Appearance and personality
In humanoid form, Pakan has steel-hard sharp teeth and nails that function as natural weapons. The source emphasizes his feral motion more than clothing or facial detail. The Last Wolf changes him into a dignified blue wolf approximately three meters tall, concentrating his identity as Griolli's wolf lord into a larger combat body. (Chapters 27–32 and 108)
Pakan is loyal, aggressive, proud, and notably simple-minded. He follows Upa's command even when it exposes him to punishment, reacts to disrespect with immediate anger, and assumes weak-looking humans cannot threaten a demon duke. Those traits make him fearsome in direct combat but easy for Upa and Randalph to manipulate strategically. Even after abandonment and catastrophic losses, he chooses a frontal last stand rather than flight or negotiation. (Chapters 27–32, 61–71, and 106–108)
Abilities and powers
Wolf physique and natural weapons
Pakan fights with claws, nails, teeth, and high-speed movement rather than relying on a named weapon. His nails and teeth are described as hard as steel, while his final statistics show especially high strength and agility. Against the Awakened he crosses space quickly enough to leave afterimages and tears bodies apart at close range. This style is lethal against slower opponents but forces him into the reach of superior swordsmen such as Randalph. (Chapters 27–32 and 108)
The Last Wolf
The Last Wolf is Pakan's Epic-grade transformation. It turns his humanoid body into a three-meter blue wolf and represents the advanced form of his wolf powers, supporting greater physical pressure in his final duel. The source does not give a numerical multiplier, duration, cooldown, or separate energy cost. Severe injury ends the confrontation, and Pakan reverts to humanoid form after Randalph pierces his heart. (Chapter 108)
Regeneration and Revival
Pakan's earlier Regeneration skill has progressed to the Ex U-grade Revival by his last battle. Its name and grade imply advanced recovery, but the corpus never shows him successfully returning after a fatal injury and does not define its trigger conditions or limits. Krasla's decision to behead him is a precaution against possible healing rather than proof of resurrection. Accordingly, the heart wound and decapitation establish his death, not a demonstrated failed activation mechanic. (Chapters 27–32 and 108)
Viciousness and combat limitations
His U-grade Viciousness accompanies high physical statistics and relentless close combat, but its discrete effect is not defined. Pakan's endurance is also strategic rather than limitless: two months without rest, the loss of thousands of creatures, and the collapse of his dungeon leave him isolated. Low judgment, pride, and dependence on Upa's direction repeatedly expose him to traps that raw statistics cannot solve. (Chapters 27–32 and 106–108)
Relationships
- Upa Bullenon: Pakan's grand duke and commander. Pakan obeys him unquestioningly, while Upa blames and abandons Pakan whenever doing so benefits the faction.
- Randalph Brigsiel: The rival who engineers the destruction of Pakan's dungeon and personally kills him after the Infinite Flesh siege.
- Krasla: Randalph's warrior, who beheads Pakan's corpse to guard against the possibility of advanced healing.
Items
Pakan has no canonically named personal item in the supplied corpus. His steel-hard teeth, nails, and transformed wolf body are natural weapons rather than equipment.
