Sister Ines

Sister Ines Quiteria is a religious Cat Girl crawler whose sponsor-enhanced poetry and charm magic seize control of a city boss, escalating the eighth floor's regional war into a demonic catastrophe.

Biography

The Eighth Floor and Bedlam

Sister Ines enters the eighth floor at level 47 with Paz and Anton, carrying a Poet Laureate build and a strong religious worldview. After warning the monk seals of a crab attack, she uses a sponsor-raised Book of Rhymes and Word Weaver combination to charm the level-125 Madre de Aguas, gaining control over the boss and the creatures it commands. The zombie outbreak and demon eviction destabilize the spell, while grief and terror harden her belief that the dungeon is literally Hell; she rejects Carl's appeal, treats surrounding crawlers as sinners, and turns the controlled boss into a floor-wide threat. Carl's group ultimately puts her to sleep so the demon can be freed safely, and Louis accepts the player-killer consequence by stabbing her. Her corpse becomes the shell through which Ysalte manifests, extending the consequences of Ines's patronage beyond her death. (Chapters 226–241 and 273–288)

Appearance and personality

Ines is a female Cat Girl whose religious title and nun-like presentation lead other crawlers to call her “Sister.” She is initially part of a protective, close-knit party, but accumulated loss, sponsorship, and the floor's demonic imagery push her into paranoid certainty that aliens and game mechanics are deceptions of Hell. Her final conduct is zealous and suicidal rather than merely tactical. (Chapters 226–241 and 275–286)

Skills, class, and abilities

Her Poet Laureate class supports poetry-based control. A level-15 Book of Rhymes bard skill enhances Word Weaver enough to charm Madre de Aguas and, through the boss, influence zombies across an enormous area. The spell requires continuous recitation and remains vulnerable to teleport disruption, demon eviction, and loss of concentration; Samantha's mass teleport breaks the first version, and a sleep wand stops Ines before the final confrontation. Her card deck also includes captured totems such as Yago, but the enhanced deck used by Ysalte after Ines's death is not evidence that Ines personally mastered the goddess's power. (Chapters 226–241 and 275–288)

Relationships

  • Paz and Anton: They are Ines's protective party companions. Their deaths and injuries contribute to her isolation and collapse, while her stabbing of Paz shows the party bond breaking under religious delusion. (Chapters 226–241 and 273)
  • Carl: Carl first cooperates with her group, then tries to negotiate when her charm threatens the floor; he ultimately concludes she must die to prevent the freed demon from retaliating. (Chapters 226–241 and 275–286)
  • Louis: Louis kills the unconscious Ines to spare other crawlers additional player-killer marks, receiving Ysalte's death mark as a consequence. (Chapters 286–287)

Items

No generated item article is assigned to Sister Ines. Her team flag becomes a weapon against Paz, while her card deck and patron-granted skill support her charm strategy; their later divine enhancement belongs to Ysalte's manifestation rather than to Ines's surviving custody.
