Raul
Raul is a boastful Red Maníseros land-crab warrior captured as an eighth-floor totem and later upgraded into one of Donut's strongest short-duration summons.
Biography
The Eighth Floor and Bedlam
Raul begins as a level-70 Sun-Kissed Cloud Rank Warrior from the crab–seal war, casting while surrounded by yellow light and fighting through the Juego de maní tradition. Donut adds him to her deck and uses him against magical or ghostly opponents, where his explosive entrances and uncompromising warrior persona make him both comic and effective. He survives the deck's final battles and levels with the card at the floor's end. (Chapters 245–293)
Faction Wars at Larracos
Donut summons Raul after his card jumps to level 110 and mythic rarity. He remains for ten minutes, uses his armored legs and strength to seize Lucia, lowers her once Carl's conscription potion works, and immediately redirects to help Donut. The scene demonstrates a major increase in power while preserving the fixed-duration limitation. A later action figure repeats his sayings but is merchandise, not the living totem. (Chapters 376–377 and 393)
Appearance and personality
Raul is a large armored red land crab who moves sideways and arrives with a bright explosion. He is theatrical, proud, relentlessly encouraging, and fond of calling Carl “Daddy Carl” while praising feet and refusing submission. His speech is comic, but he follows Donut's and Carl's tactical directions once summoned. (Chapters 245–267 and 376–377)
Skills, class, and abilities
Raul is trained in Juego de maní and initially appears as a level-70 Sun-Kissed Cloud Rank Warrior. He can cast or channel a yellow aura, strike with armored legs, grapple powerful targets, and damage ghostly or magic-vulnerable enemies. After the card upgrade he becomes level 110 and mythic, but each summon lasts only ten minutes and remains dependent on Donut's deck access. The action figure has no bearing on his current card power. (Chapters 245–293 and 376–393)
Relationships
- Donut: Donut owns and summons Raul's card, directing him across the eighth and ninth floors. (Chapters 245–293 and 376–377)
- Carl: Raul calls Carl “Daddy Carl” and obeys his immediate battlefield direction while Donut is occupied. (Chapter 377)
- The Red Maníseros: Raul embodies their fighting tradition and hostility toward the monk seals. (Chapters 245–251)
Items
No generated item article is assigned to Raul. His mythic totem card remains the access mechanism for his summon, but it is part of Donut's deck rather than Raul's personal inventory. (Chapters 263, 293, and 376)
