Olga
Olga is a toadlike Grulke mercenary and vehicle driver hired during the eleventh-floor race. She tries to keep her volatile friend Quemada alive, is killed during the heat, and is subsequently reproduced as a grotesque temporary driver through corpse animation and clockwork effects. (Chapters 428–443)
Biography
The Parade of Horribles
Olga enters the race team with Finley and Quemada, negotiating higher fees because their previous outing killed their friend Helado and nearly ended in Quemada's uncontrolled violence. Olga and Finley can both drive, while Quemada supplies protection. Once Carl's party hires them, Olga takes the wheel, activates vehicle systems, monitors the shield, reports other racers' attacks, and tries to manage Quemada's panic disorder without pretending the danger is under control. (Chapters 428–436)
An enemy effect inflicts Gingered, leaving Olga unconscious and losing health until partially revived. She is later killed with her head caved in, while Finley is catastrophically injured and Quemada disappears after death. The party takes Olga's corpse; subsequent magic animates it as a leaking undead driver, and later a clockwork Olga continues steering until it falls out of the vehicle. These copies can hear and follow instructions, but they are temporary constructs made after Olga's death, not evidence that she personally survives. (Chapters 437–443)
Appearance and personality
Olga is a female Grulke who insists she is a toad rather than a frog. She has a croaking voice and a long tongue, features rendered grotesque after her corpse's skull is crushed and animated. Alive, she is practical, business-minded, and protective: she bargains aggressively, watches the vehicle's condition, and treats Quemada's disorder as a manageable reality rather than a reason to abandon her friend. (Chapters 428–439)
Skills, class, and abilities
Driving and vehicle operation
Olga can drive the race truck, operate its shield and controls, alter wheel settings, and read the battlefield through mirrors and gauges. She makes quick evasive maneuvers and communicates mechanical problems, but unfamiliar controls, hostile status effects, and the vehicle's poor performance constrain her. Her latest driving appearances are performed by animated or clockwork copies, whose capabilities come from the effects that create them. (Chapters 428–443)
Mercenary teamwork
She coordinates with Finley to calm Quemada and relies on Quemada for magical protection. Olga is not shown casting spells or using a named personal attack. The Gingered debuff incapacitates her, and ordinary lethal trauma kills her, establishing clear limits despite the later reuse of her body. (Chapters 428–439)
Relationships
- Quemada: Olga accepts the danger of Quemada's panic and remains committed to keeping her safe after Helado's death. (Chapters 428–439)
- Finley: Both are drivers and share responsibility for managing the team. Finley worries about failing to protect Olga when she is unconscious. (Chapters 428–439)
- Carl and Donut: They hire Olga's team and depend on her driving. After her death, Donut directs the animated and clockwork versions with macabre practicality. (Chapters 428–443)
Items
No personal item link is assigned to Olga in the current manifest. The race truck and its shields are hired team equipment rather than her documented property, and the undead or clockwork bodies are temporary posthumous effects rather than possessions. (Chapters 428–443)
