Justice Light

Justice Light is a skyfowl shopkeeper converted into a mercenary by Faction Wars, whose pursuit of revenge culminates in a deliberate fatal trap against the powers beyond the Nothing.

Biography

Faction Wars at Larracos

Justice is drafted away from his shop with other NPCs and joins the crawler coalition, where he quickly becomes invested in recovering a stolen gate and the artifact Eris links to his revenge. Protective friends hesitate to expose him to the plan, but Justice chooses commitment over safety. At the floor's end he hides his presence, lies to Juice Box that he will follow her through the Nothing, and remains behind with Emberus to activate the trap from the required side of the veil. The action succeeds in contributing to the larger rupture but costs Justice his life. (Chapters 301–392)

The Parade of Horribles

Carl receives Justice's final message—“I am not sorry. Peace to you all”—marked as coming from a deceased mercenary. The farewell confirms that his sacrifice was deliberate rather than an accidental failure to descend. Juice Box survives elsewhere, leaving the emotional consequence with comrades who understand only part of what his trap changed. (Chapters 395–404)

Appearance and personality

Justice is a skyfowl with talons and an established life as a shopkeeper before conscription. He is anxious about losing that ordinary life but becomes resolute, secretive, and self-sacrificing once revenge and escape appear possible. His calm final farewell contrasts with the fear visible when the war first drafts him. (Chapters 301, 365–392, and 395)

Skills, class, and abilities

Justice can cast concealment magic strong enough to hide his presence while only he and Emberus remain on the floor. He also understands and activates a trap tied to the Nothing, but the corpus does not fully explain its construction, exact effect, or whether the artifact supplies most of the power. The spell requires him to remain on the dangerous side of the veil, making its activation fatal. His complete class and level are not provided. (Chapters 365–392)

Relationships

  • Juice Box: Justice promises to accompany her, then lies so she will enter safety while he remains to trigger the trap. (Chapters 365–404)
  • Tipid and Rosetta: Both are protective of him and reluctant to support the artifact plan, but ultimately respect his choice. (Chapters 383 and 395)
  • Carl: Carl advocates helping Justice obtain revenge and later grieves the cost of the completed plan. (Chapters 383–397)

Items

No generated item article is assigned to Justice Light. The revenge artifact is discussed as an objective and trap component, but the frozen inventory does not establish stable personal custody under a generated item page.
