Eileithyia

Eileithyia is a Level 250 goddess of childbirth, female pain, healing, and grief. Her benevolent divine identity is used by sponsor Huanxin Jinx for Ascendancy intrigue, creating a sharp distinction between the goddess's powers and the driver's manipulative decisions. (Chapters 236–240, 259, 391)

Biography

The Eighth Floor and Bedlam

Eileithyia's long remembrance of Yemaya makes the forgotten river goddess eligible to return when the crawlers repair her monument. Temporarily appearing under Huanxin's sponsorship, Eileithyia grants the party healing and possession protections, then uses a nominal spider-killing quest as a private communication channel. Huanxin offers help with the Donut–Katia crisis in exchange for political cooperation, using Eileithyia's grace and boons as leverage for the twelfth-floor game. (Chapters 236–240)

Katia receives Eileithyia worship through a sponsor scroll and considers the goddess's permanent-boon flower as an escape route. The available outcomes include immense Constitution growth, temporary Celestial Attendant status, or restoration to her birth race with pregnancy, all conditional and dangerous. Huanxin later honors part of the bargain while threatening Katia and Donut through Eileithyia's quest channel, demonstrating that sponsored divine messages reflect the driver rather than necessarily the goddess's kind reputation. (Chapters 239–240, 259)

Faction Wars at Larracos

Eileithyia is summoned as her true goddess form and applies a battlefield aura that weakens attacks against women while multiplying female melee power. The encounter ends Katia's crawler crisis: Eileithyia makes her pregnant, marks her ineligible, and removes her from the active crawl. Huanxin is killed during the same confrontation, after which the goddess fades; the latest source therefore leaves Eileithyia active as a deity but no longer under that sponsor's demonstrated control. (Chapter 391)

Appearance and personality

Huanxin's unsuited driver appearance is a five-foot, blue-and-black-haired, six-eyed alien with four arms, a long neck, a pregnant belly, a red toga, and a laurel. Eileithyia's true body is a voluptuous, human-sized woman in white-and-gold robes and flowers, with olive skin, dark curls, an alien lower face, four apparent breasts, and three digits on each hand and foot. The system describes the goddess as kind and comforting to mothers, while Huanxin's speech through her is calculating and threatening. (Chapters 238–240, 391)

Skills, class, and abilities

Divine aura and temple-state invulnerability

When present, Eileithyia quarters damage dealt to female opponents and raises female party members' melee power to 500 percent. She is invulnerable on the shown floors under deity-summoning rules, but her appearances are temporary and her aura ends when she leaves. The effect is indiscriminate within its defined party and sex conditions rather than proof of unlimited control over combat. (Chapters 238, 391)

Grace, healing, and boons

Her floor grace provides protection from spiritual possession, ten-percent faster healing, and ten-percent Constitution while she continues to approve. She can also grant permanent or state-changing boons through the Orchid of Eileithyia's Grace, but consuming it reduces health to one percent, prevents healing, and causes an hour of unconsciousness. Some benefits end if Eileithyia dies or after the twelfth floor, making them conditional rather than universal gifts. (Chapters 238–240)

Fertility and divine transport

Eileithyia can restore birth race, cause pregnancy without sex, select or confirm a father under racial rules, and transfer eligible recipients into protected attendant arrangements. Her touch makes Katia pregnant and removes her from crawler eligibility. These outcomes require a boon or summoned divine intervention and do not show ordinary at-will use outside the game's formal mechanisms. (Chapters 240, 391)

Relationships

  • Yemaya: Eileithyia remembers Yemaya after other worshipers disappear, enabling her return and accepting her as a retainer. (Chapters 236–240)
  • Huanxin Jinx: Huanxin sponsors and drives Eileithyia, using her quests and boons for political leverage until Huanxin's death. (Chapters 238–240, 259, 391)
  • Katia: Katia worships Eileithyia and ultimately receives the pregnancy outcome that removes her from the active crawl. (Chapters 239–240, 391)

Items

No personal item link is assigned to Eileithyia in the current manifest. The Orchid of Eileithyia's Grace bears her name and channels her boons, but it is held in a sealed reward box rather than shown in her custody. (Chapter 240)
