Dwight is the unicorn leader of Team Free Love, whose grief over mechanic Lucienne turns into a fatal vendetta against Carl and Donut.

Biography

The Parade of Horribles

Dwight enters the races mounted within a large bramble-like vehicle and partnered with the small, abrasive Lucienne. After Lucienne dies, he becomes intoxicated, kills a DJ with his horn, and attacks Carl and Donut during the bar riot, blaming them for her death. The coalition incapacitates and protects him because race rules require opponents to survive, but grief hardens into a revenge plan built around a cart-mounted missile launcher. In the final start block Carl parks too close for the weapon to deploy, and Donut decapitates Dwight as soon as the race begins. The coalition later mounts his looted launcher on its own parade truck. (Chapters 399–489)

Appearance and personality

Dwight is a full-sized unicorn with a magical, twinkling horn who travels inside or pulls a mass of living brambles. He is initially competitive, then openly devastated and irrational after Lucienne's death, cycling through sobbing, intoxication, rage, and focused revenge. His refusal to abandon the feud makes him predictable at the final starting line. (Chapters 399, 450–452, and 475–477)

Skills, class, and abilities

Dwight's unicorn body provides speed, a lethal horn, and compatibility with the vine vehicle. His team adds a heavy magic-missile launcher on a wheeled cart, but the cannon needs physical clearance and cannot fire while blocked inside the starting area. Alcohol and knockout effects disable Dwight, and neither his mount nor weapon protects his neck from Donut's close-range strike. His horn and launcher are looted after death, ending his personal access. (Chapters 450–477 and 489)
