Melted Golden Armor
The Melted Golden Armor is Iron Cliff’s heavy defensive armor. His original Grade Nine suit trades weight for protection and suits the Cliff Race’s strength; he later exchanges it for a lighter, more powerful Grade Six version.
History
Heavy armor for a Cliff Race guard
Su Chen equips Iron Cliff with a Grade Nine Melted Golden Armor worth about seven thousand Origin Stones during an Immortal Temple operation. The suit is heavy enough to hinder ordinary Origin Qi Scholars, but Iron Cliff can wear it while breaching rooms and absorb traps without even activating its powered defenses. (Chapter 74)
The armor becomes part of Iron Cliff’s role as Su Chen’s shield and front-line charger. He wears it while breaking defensive barriers and later interposes his armored body between Su Chen and incoming attacks, combining it with Iron Mountain Shield. (Chapters 79 and 184)
Limits and replacement
The original armor withstands repeated darts, but it does not eliminate transferred momentum. Ice can spread along its joints and restrict Iron Cliff’s movement, while mud and repeated impacts exploit the reduced mobility of an armored target. (Chapter 397)
At Flying Moon Workshop, Iron Cliff exchanges the original suit for a Grade Six Melted Golden Armor. The replacement is lighter, stronger, and rated to withstand an attack of at least one hundred bears. No later sale, destruction, or replacement of this upgraded suit is stated in the relevant evidence. (Chapter 468)
Abilities and properties
- Strong passive shell: The Grade Nine armor can stop flying darts without powered activation and has defensive strength comparable to some Grade Eight armor. (Chapter 74)
- Powered defense: Origin Stones can activate additional protection beyond the heavy physical shell. The exact duration and consumption rate are not specified. (Chapter 74)
- Cliff Race compatibility: Its principal drawback is weight. Iron Cliff’s natural strength makes the burden manageable and allows him to use the suit as mobile cover. (Chapters 74 and 184)
- Control vulnerabilities: Cold can freeze the joints, impacts can transmit force through the armor, and terrain that immobilizes the wearer can turn its weight into a disadvantage. (Chapter 397)
- Grade Six upgrade: The later suit is lighter while offering much greater protection, with a stated resistance of at least one hundred bears of force. (Chapter 468)
