Yu Wei

Yu Wei is a minor Evil Tiger Gang ringleader and storehouse guard whose mind has been enslaved by a Spirit Race controller. He wounds Iron Cliff, uses the gang's collapse to steal a Darkness Crystal, and defeats much stronger cultivators through consciousness techniques supplied through the puppet bond before Su Chen captures and kills him. (Chapters 433–437)

Biography

Exposure as a puppet

Yu ambushes Iron Cliff after a gang confrontation, cutting him with a poisoned blade before disappearing into darkness. Su recognizes the curse substance in Iron Cliff's blood as matching an earlier Spirit Race case and traces the attacker to a low-ranking Evil Tiger storehouse guard. Yu's apparently modest position is strategic: it gives the controller access to a protected cache without attracting the scrutiny that would follow a prominent gang leader. (Chapter 433)

After the gang chief dies and the deputies fight over succession, Yu opens the interior storehouse with a Formation Disk and ignores its ordinary valuables in favor of the Darkness Crystal. He detects four concealed Shadow Servants through their heat, breath, heartbeats, and footsteps. Although only at Qi Drawing, he uses Soul Petrifying effects and Imprisoned Fiend Fog to wound all four and kill Li the Fourth through the monsters manifested in the fog. (Chapters 434–436)

Capture and death

Ji Hanyan captures Yu as he flees. Su pretends to search his memories, but actually places him in an illusion where an apparent rescue by his master persuades him to run toward the controller's refuge. Yu eventually detects flaws in the false landscape, yet not before revealing Little South Mountain. When he attacks in desperation, Su strikes his forehead and kills him, judging that the Spirit Race's enslavement cannot be reversed. His illusory route then guides the pursuit of his master. (Chapters 436–437)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide stable details for Yu Wei's face, age, clothing, hair, height, or build. He carries a black dagger and can disappear into darkness, but neither feature is established as unique to his original, uncontrolled identity. (Chapters 433–436)

Yu's independent personality is largely unrecoverable because he is already a Spirit Race puppet when introduced. The controlled persona is confident, contemptuous, perceptive, and wholly devoted to its master: it dismisses Iron Cliff as replaceable, refuses bribery and fear, and treats death as preferable to betrayal. These traits demonstrate the depth of enslavement and the controller's priorities, not necessarily the man Yu was before capture. (Chapters 433–436)

Abilities and cultivation

Yu is formally at the Qi Drawing Realm, yet Spirit Race consciousness methods let him pressure two peak Blood Boiling and two peak Qi Drawing opponents simultaneously. He detects incomplete concealment through ordinary bodily signs, wields a black dagger, vanishes into darkness, and applies a poison or curse that leaves a living substance in Iron Cliff's blood. The exact division between Yu's prior training and powers imposed through the puppet bond is not stated. (Chapters 433–434)

His attacks carry a Soul Petrifying effect that slows an opponent's reactions even when anticipated. Imprisoned Fiend Fog fills an area with initially intangible, fear-inducing entities that decay and devour targets; after Yu expels blood, the monsters become physical, can detect concealed people, and attack more directly. Taking physical form also makes them vulnerable to Su's fire, while the blood sacrifice and the Shadow Servants' mutual support limit Yu's ability to finish the battle and escape. (Chapters 434–436)

Yu uses an Origin Formations Disk to bypass the Evil Tiger storehouse restriction and retrieves a Darkness Crystal for his controller. These are mission tools or stolen material rather than finalized personal possessions, and the crystal is taken from him after capture. His loyalty cannot protect his mind from Su's illusion, which extracts a directional clue without a literal memory search. (Chapters 434–437)

Relationships

  • Su Chen: Investigator, captor, and killer. Su identifies Yu through Iron Cliff's blood, defeats the fog creatures, tricks him into revealing his master's direction, and ends a life he considers impossible to free from Spirit Race control. (Chapters 433–437)
  • Iron Cliff: Yu's ambush victim. The curse left in Iron Cliff's blood becomes the evidence that exposes Yu's hidden mission. (Chapter 433)
  • Ji Hanyan: The investigator who pursues and physically captures Yu before assisting Su's interrogation and the later search at Little South Mountain. (Chapters 433 and 436–437)
