Xing Shabei is the new head of Clear River City’s Origin Bureau, installed as an opponent to Su Chen after Liu Wuya’s fall.

Biography

Contest for the Origin Bureau

Xing Shabei summons Su Chen, accuses him over the upheaval in Clear River City, and attempts to retain imprisoned members of Su Chen’s faction. Su Chen and Cloud Leopard expose holes in the manufactured case, forcing Xing to release the prisoners, while Su Chen prepares to reduce the new chief to a figurehead within his own bureau. (Chapters 401–403)

After further confrontation, Xing Shabei leads masked Yang Opening and Blood Boiling cultivators into the Su Palace to assassinate Su Chen. The intruders are trapped in the Ten Fiends Thousand Forms Formation, and Xing is struck down without Su Chen needing to fight personally. His disappearance is officially left unresolved, although the city’s factions understand that Su Chen killed him. (Chapters 412–414)

Appearance and personality

Xing Shabei is tall and carries a large knife at his thigh, projecting a vicious aura while drinking from a jug. He is bossy, confrontational, and politically compromised, but also capable of precise physical control and of retreating when procedural pressure leaves him exposed. (Chapters 401–403)

Abilities and cultivation

He is a Yang Opening Realm cultivator proficient in close-quarters combat. His fine control cracks the ground without damaging the table he strikes, but his full power cannot overcome a formation designed with Light Shaking opponents in mind. (Chapters 402–413)

Relationships

Xing Shabei serves the interests of the ten Bloodline Nobility Clans and opposes Su Chen’s control of the Origin Bureau. Cloud Leopard’s Secret Task Force authority helps force his first retreat, while An Siyuan later recommends Su Chen to replace the missing chief. (Chapters 402–414)

Items

He carries a large knife and drinks from a wine jug. A genuine City Lord command medallion is used to draw away Su Chen’s Blood-Robed Guards, but the corpus does not explain how Xing obtained it. (Chapters 401, 414)
