Wei Liancheng

Wei Liancheng appeared to be an ordinary Long Clan guard but was a Yang Opening puppet controlled through Spirit Race methods. He maneuvered Long Shaoyou toward a lost research object, survived interrogation by speaking misleading literal truths, and revealed his real purpose during the hostage exchange. Biography

The hidden puppet

While serving as Long Shaoyou's guard, Wei Liancheng subtly directed the young master toward the Li Residence, where he hoped to recover a metal block from Silence's destroyed reproductive laboratory. His unremarkable behavior concealed both Yang Opening cultivation and outside control. Under examination he avoided a lie-detecting technique by answering with statements that were literally true yet designed to preserve a false interpretation, showing that the intelligence behind him could work within the test's rules. Su Chen identifies Wei as the important figure and demands him during the hostage exchange. Wei breaks his restraints, blocks Long Qingjiang, and insists that Su remain alive because only Su can lead him to the metal block. He then releases the Imprisoned Fiend Fog and curses Shaoyou. Surrounded by Long Clan guards, Wei fights without pain, fear, or self-preservation, continuing through a pierced abdomen and severed limbs until his body is destroyed. Appearance and personality

Wei looked like an ordinary middle-aged man and gave no outward impression of being a cultivator. The lack of distinctive features was part of his utility as a hidden guard and infiltrator. (Chapters 358–368)

The corpus does not establish how much independent personality survived inside the puppet. His patience, verbal precision, relentless violence, and apparent courage may all reflect the remote controller rather than Wei's original character.
