Su Feihu

Su Feihu is Su Chen's paternal uncle and one of the few senior Su Clan relatives who consistently values him over immediate advantage. He defends Su during the disputes surrounding his blindness, later refuses to exploit their relationship, and spends his old age preventing the clan from becoming a burden on his nephew. (Chapters 3–153 and 1100–1101)

Biography

Family advocate and self-limiting clan head

As the Su Clan's Third Elder, Su Feihu opposes attempts to strip Su Chen of resources merely because he has gone blind and treats the boy's persistence as worthy of support. He joins family responses to threats, defends Su in his wager with Su Keji, and later receives greater responsibility from Su Changche when Su Cheng'an's conduct damages the household. When asked to bring Su back after the young man chooses his own road, Feihu refuses to manipulate affection for clan benefit and accepts that leaving may be right for him. (Chapters 3–153)

Decades later, the aged Feihu presides over the Su household while deliberately keeping it separate from Su Chen's immense influence. He recognizes Su's secret New Year visits, rejects offers to extend his cultivation, and explains that enriching dependent relatives would encourage them to consume Su's reputation and humanity's resources. He also reports signs of underground divine worship, helps Su assess the coming crisis, and accepts medicine intended for Cheng'an despite his criticism of his elder brother. His final advice supports necessary sacrifice for the human race while preserving clear moral limits. (Chapters 1100–1101)

Appearance and personality

In old age, Su Feihu's once-youthful physique has withered, but his gaze remains sharp and his mind clear. He enjoys tea and the roses he planted and is content with a quiet remaining life rather than further advancement. His earlier facial features and clothing are not established. (Chapter 1100)

He is affectionate, perceptive, blunt, and unusually resistant to nepotism. His care for Su Chen does not take the form of seeking rewards; he uses clan authority to protect Su from grasping relatives and is willing to deny his own household an easier rise. He can be severe in judgment, especially toward Cheng'an and opportunistic juniors, but still accepts practical compassion when Su offers it. (Chapters 3–153 and 1100–1101)

Abilities and cultivation

Su Feihu is an Origin Qi Scholar who once had the possibility of continued advancement, but the corpus does not state his realm, bloodline, techniques, or combat record precisely enough to classify them. By Chapter 1100 he explicitly declines Su Chen's offer to help him progress because he no longer has the desire to cultivate further. (Chapters 3–153 and 1100)

His most clearly demonstrated strengths are administrative and perceptive. He manages the Su household, recognizes Su during concealed visits through habit and insight, understands the corrupting incentives of borrowed status, and notices underground religious activity despite its secrecy. These are not supernatural abilities, and the text does not grant him Su's concealment, medical, or investigative techniques. (Chapters 1100–1101)

Relationships

• Su Chen: Feihu supports him as a vulnerable child, respects his independence as an adult, and later shields him from relatives who want to exploit his success. Their private New Year conversations show mutual trust and affection. (Chapters 3–153 and 1100–1101)
• Su Cheng'an: Feihu is his younger brother and openly criticizes his resentment and failures. Even so, he accepts Su Chen's medicine to help Cheng'an recover and allows events to take their natural course. (Chapters 97, 1100, and 1101)
• Su Keji: Feihu opposes Keji's efforts to disadvantage Su Chen and serves as one of the senior voices checking his faction during the early clan disputes. (Chapters 3–97)
• Su Changche: The patriarch entrusts Feihu with greater business and household responsibility as Cheng'an falters, recognizing his steadier judgment. (Chapters 97 and 151)
