Shi Zhongwei

Shi Zhongwei is the Yang Opening commander placed over the Clear River noble clans' extermination campaign in West River Forest. He values reputation and alliance resources more than the lives of ordinary troops, then loses his command and fighting will when Su Chen and the Shadow Servants ambush him at Happiness Residing Fort. Biography

Consolidating the extermination force

Shi receives news that four Blood Boiling experts have died to the forest villages' traps. He refuses to request reinforcements because West River is regarded as a desirable assignment and returning it would make other clan elders mock him. Instead, he orders scattered forces to consolidate, lies to Clear River that changing poison waves are delaying the operation, and selects a route that will destroy the forts one by one while preserving his claim to eventual victory. At Happiness Residing Fort, Shi oversees hundreds of martial artists and allows supervisors to kill men who retreat. He treats their fear as worthlessness and keeps his Origin Qi Scholars behind the front line until the villagers release their tamed beasts. His command is designed as training and coercion for the alliance rather than as protection of his troops, and the attackers continue slaughtering villagers even when the fort attempts to surrender. Ambush and collapse

Su and Iron Cliff break the assault. When a fellow Yang Opening cultivator is killed, Shi reacts more strongly than he does to the Blood Boiling losses because such experts are scarce alliance assets.
