Miao Changqing
Miao Changqing is Zhou Qingkuang's adviser and strongest bodyguard during the dispute over Gu Qingluo. A peak Yang Opening cultivator with an implanted Demonic Emperor bloodline, he supports his young master's schemes until Su Chen's enhanced guards defeat him.
Biography
Adviser to Zhou Qingkuang
Miao Changqing explains the mistaken diagnosis of Zhou Qingkuang's mother and reluctantly carries out the young master's harsh response. In Swallow River he counsels Zhou about Gu Xuanmian's attitude, pays Gu Jintang for information, and investigates the apparent Long Shaoyou. He correctly notes the dangers of acting outside their territory, but ultimately agrees with Zhou's conclusion that an isolated rich rival looks easy to rob. (Chapters 576–578)
Defeat and transfer
Miao follows Zhou into the Long residence and is ordered to kill its defenders. Despite his superior realm and implanted bloodline, coordinated lower-realm guards empowered by the Hemolytic Totem resist him. His General-Beheading Night Blade and armor prevent an immediate defeat, but their combined attack leaves him unable to stand. When Gu Xuanmian negotiates for Zhou Qingkuang's life, Long Shaoyou demands Miao as one of his conditions, and the patriarch agrees that the wounded underling will thereafter belong to Long. The corpus does not reveal how Long ultimately treats him. (Chapters 578–580)
Appearance and personality
The corpus does not specify Miao Changqing's age, build, hair, eyes, or clothing. He carries armor and a blade during the Long residence battle. (Chapters 578–579)
Miao is observant, deferential, and more cautious than Zhou Qingkuang. He hesitates before cruel or risky orders but usually yields, supplies information that encourages his master's greed, and apologizes for failing after being overwhelmed. (Chapters 576–579)
Abilities and cultivation
Miao is a peak Yang Opening Realm cultivator into whom a Demonic Emperor bloodline has been implanted, making him stronger than many peers at the same realm. He can sustain a barrier under repeated attacks and briefly contest a coordinated force whose combined strike resembles Light Shaking power. (Chapters 578–579)
The General-Beheading Night Blade produces invisible attacks in darkness, perceived only as deepening shadows that enter and consume a target. Miao also wears Source-Returning Armor, which stops the portion of an icy blade strike that penetrates his barrier. These defenses keep him alive, but do not prevent the enhanced guards' collective attack from incapacitating him. (Chapter 579)
