Kenwo

Kenwo is Anubi’s chief imperial officer and the palace rival of Su Chen while Su Chen operates under the identity Lontu.

Biography

Competition in the gladiator arena

Kenwo oversees the palace’s internal affairs and supplies Anubi with servants, companions, and amusements. He treats Lontu’s attempt to entertain the emperor as an intrusion on his own authority, so he arranges increasingly elaborate gladiator matches to make the newcomer’s performance look ordinary. The scheme fails when Su Chen’s dangerous Terror Lizard spectacle delights Anubi and wins him appointment as head of the internal servants. (Chapters 704–706)

Kenwo subsequently presents captive human soldiers for slaughter, but Su Chen persuades Anubi to transfer them to him for a better performance. Kenwo continues probing Su Chen’s access to human inventions and challenging his claims, yet Anubi warns him against crude attempts to undermine his new favorite. (Chapters 706–711)

Appearance and personality

The corpus identifies Kenwo as a Ravager standing beside Anubi but gives no distinctive physical description. He is territorial, contemptuous toward foreign races, and politically cautious enough to restrain himself when the emperor rules against him. (Chapters 704–706)

Abilities and cultivation

No named combat ability or cultivation level is established. His power is administrative: he controls palace servants, arranges entertainment, and can procure gladiators and beasts for Anubi’s arena. (Chapters 704–706)

Relationships

Kenwo serves Anubi closely but competes with Su Chen for access and influence. He considers Su Chen a usurper of his duties, while Su Chen regards Kenwo as an obstructive rival and uses the emperor’s favor to defeat his maneuvers. (Chapters 704–711)

Items

No personal item is identified. The arena beasts and human captives he arranges are resources under his administrative control, not possessions uniquely tied to him. (Chapters 704–706)
