Gucha

Gucha is the commander-in-chief of the two-hundred-thousand-strong Ravager army sent against the Beasts at Three Mountain Castle. A peak Totemic Warrior with extensive battlefield experience, he combines sound strategic judgment with the Ravagers' characteristic bluntness, even counterattacking Emperor Anubi during an argument over a disastrous plan.

Biography

Commander opposed to the emperor

Gucha warns that Anubi's proposed encirclement will fragment the army in difficult mountain terrain and let the Beasts defeat isolated groups. When the emperor attacks him for the criticism, Gucha fights back and even punches him in the face, yet the conference simply resumes afterward. He remains skeptical of Su Chen's bait proposal, identifies risks involving camouflage and the national treasures, and later modifies or ignores Anubi's battlefield orders when necessary. (Chapters 714–715)

Rearguard and death

When the Beast palace discovers the real imperial party, Gucha helps escort Anubi and refuses an immediate retreat that could collapse the army's morale. Once the Scarlet Heart closes in, Gucha sends the emperor away and remains as commander to defend the position. He unleashes his finest full-powered blade strike, but the Demonic Emperor's body slips beyond its reach and retaliates with the Black Light of Death. Gucha briefly resists the decay through his life force before a second black wave overwhelms him. A later battlefield report confirms that he was killed. (Chapters 717, 719, and 723)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not specify Gucha's age, build, hair, eyes, or clothing. His physical resilience is evident when Anubi's punch produces huge energy waves without killing him. (Chapter 714)

Gucha is stubborn, resolute, inflexible, and unusually frank. He values military reality over pleasing the emperor and continues objecting even under threat. At the same time, he takes the commander-in-chief's responsibility seriously enough to remain behind when Anubi flees. (Chapters 714 and 719)

Abilities and cultivation

Gucha is a peak Totemic Warrior with long combat experience and King-level power. Two nearby passages disagree on whether he had undergone five or six baptisms, so the exact baptism count is not treated as settled. His strength exceeds Anubi's practical combat ability despite the emperor's nominal cultivation advantage. (Chapters 714 and 719)

His principal demonstrated technique is a full-power blade strike containing his accumulated comprehension of the blade and enough killing intent to appear capable of splitting a mountain. The attack cannot touch the Scarlet Heart's spatially displaced form. Gucha's vitality also slows the Black Light of Death briefly, but cannot survive the Demonic Emperor's follow-up. (Chapter 719)

Relationships

  • Anubi: Gucha's emperor and frequent strategic opponent. He openly fights Anubi yet ultimately stays behind to protect his retreat. (Chapters 714 and 719)
  • Goncourt: A fellow senior leader who shares responsibility for the bait plan and the protection of the real imperial party. (Chapters 714 and 717–719)
  • Scarlet Heart: The Demonic Emperor who bypasses Gucha's final blade strike and kills him. (Chapter 719)
  • Su Chen: The disguised adviser whose plan Gucha distrusts and scrutinizes. (Chapters 714 and 717)
