Father of Frost

Fabino anxiously waits through the birth of his long-awaited son and names him Frost after seeing the infant's sharp black eyes and black hair. Seven years later, he treats the boy as an exceptional warrior and political adviser. When demonic bandits in the Lonely Forest overwhelm his guards, Fabino accepts Frost's proposal to hire the Moon Goddess Church rather than the hostile local Winter God Church, authorizing the invitation that begins a carefully engineered religious conflict. Revolt by proxy

As both churches pressure the duchy, Frost persuades Fabino that secular rulers control the believers on whom the churches depend. Fabino is appalled by the proposal to frame the Winter God Church, but his accumulated resentment and confidence that the duchy will escape blame lead him to authorize his son to proceed. The scheme ends with the Winter God Church destroyed and the Moon Goddess Church expanding into the duchy.
