Du Qingxi
Du Qingxi is Cloud Rising's emperor and one of the Seven Kingdoms' Ultimate Emperors. His realm's long border with Beast territory gives him exceptional regional knowledge, which Su Chen uses during the human coalition's invasion. Du serves as strategist, field commander, and cautious adviser rather than competing for personal glory. (Chapters 1048–1085)
Biography
Joining the unified campaign
Du receives the Boundless Sect at Illusion Fog City as the Seven Kingdoms move toward unification. He dislikes having royal authority overridden, but Cloud Rising's exposed frontier makes the alliance both an ethical opportunity and a practical necessity, so he offers little resistance. In the campaign council, he projects the terrain and Origin Energy landscape, identifies Beast leaders and routes, and recommends a path that reduces casualties. Su chooses speed instead, but continues relying on Du's expertise. (Chapters 1048–1050)
Su then entrusts him with army command. Du organizes alternating twenty-thousand-person pincers, advances without brashness, and sends scouts to identify dangerous formations before committing the coalition. He later intervenes when conflict with Jiang Jusheng threatens cooperation, smoothing the dispute so Water Sheen's forces can continue fighting alongside Su. These actions make him a coordinating emperor rather than merely another high-realm combatant. (Chapters 1051–1066)
Warning at the Beast frontier
Du fights beside the other Ultimate Emperors when a giant falcon and other high-level Beasts attack, using a rising cloud to evade cutting winds. His greater contribution comes after the coalition recognizes that a Desolate Beast has deliberately lured them onward. Du warns that remaining deep in Beast territory will bring additional monsters and that a planned enemy is fundamentally more dangerous than an accidental encounter. He remains alive at his last direct appearance; the corpus does not state his later rule, death, or final cultivation. (Chapters 1072–1085)
Appearance and personality
The corpus does not provide stable details for Du Qingxi's face, age, clothing, hair, height, or build. His imperial standing is conveyed through command and recognition rather than a fixed visual description. (Chapters 1048–1085)
Du is cautious, experienced, ethical, and pragmatic. He accepts diminished sovereignty because a unified defense can save lives, argues for lower-casualty routes, scouts before advancing, and distinguishes ordinary Beast behavior from deliberate strategy. He can also suppress personal or political friction to preserve coalition effectiveness. His caution is not cowardice: he enters battle with the other emperors when the campaign requires it. (Chapters 1048–1085)
Abilities and cultivation
Du is an Ultimate Emperor, placing him among the strongest human rulers participating in the Beast campaign. The corpus does not specify his exact cultivation realm in the standard human sequence, his bloodline, breakthrough history, weapon, or named offensive technique. His imperial title therefore should not be converted into a more precise realm without evidence. (Chapters 1048–1085)
He can form an aerial representation of terrain and Origin Energy conditions for strategic briefing, using it to communicate routes, enemy territories, and risk. In battle, he rises rapidly on a cloud to evade the giant falcon's wind edges. The text does not explain whether the map and cloud come from one art, establish their energy cost, or show the cloud defeating an opponent. His strongest demonstrated abilities remain command, reconnaissance doctrine, and accumulated knowledge of Beast territory. (Chapters 1048–1051 and 1072–1073)
