Bayan

Bayan was the son of the Gravel Lizard Tribe's Head Chieftain and a vice commander whom Danba had defeated for control of the army. Powerful but reckless, he remained in command because Danba needed the tribe's political support. Danba eventually sent him into Su Chen's prepared trap and used his death to remove a rival while preserving a public excuse. (Chapters 631–685)

Biography

Political subordinate and expendable rival

Bayan joins Danba's campaign through his father's status rather than Danba's trust. He repeatedly advocates direct pursuit of the Heavenly Might Battalion and treats the Beast territory's riches as sufficient reason to charge onward. His suggestions are often simplistic, though one accidental guess helps Danba recognize how the humans may be surviving. When Astin reports that Su Chen is isolated, Bayan eagerly demands an attack. Danba authorizes him to take a personal battalion while privately explaining that the mission is intended to kill him. (Chapters 631–670)

At the Uhayan Pool, Bayan ignores Kaska's warnings because he refuses to retreat before personally confronting Su. His axes overpower Shi Mingfeng's mud colossi, but the fighting opens the Flowerless Door and an Origin Formation prevents escape. Kaska sacrifices himself to save Bayan; Bayan does not attempt a rescue and instead breaks through the wall alone. The formation reverses his flight, allowing a tentacle from the Door to drag him into the vortex. Appearance and personality

A stream of thrown or projected flying axes can shatter the arms and bodies of Shi Mingfeng's mud colossi, while sustained axe blows crack a formation wall compared to the fortifications of Flowing Gold Fort. Under ordinary conditions, Shi Mingfeng estimates only an even chance against Bayan. The Uhayan Pool changes that balance, and the Flowerless Door's tentacles ignore Bayan's physical strength and resist his axe.
