Averigus

Averigus was one of the Inferno Tribe's three Gods of War, a Perfection Realm warrior, and an unusually capable Ravager commander. He defended the western frontier against the Astrals, openly challenged Anubi's irresponsible rule, and later played a pivotal role in Danba's coup. The corpus conflicts on whether his non-Ravager ancestry was Demon or Elf. (Chapters 705–721, 1037, and 1148)

Biography

Principled commander and hidden ally

Averigus earns authority through command rather than pure battlefield glory. Assigned to the western front, he turns chronic losses against the Astrals into roughly even results while minimizing casualties, an exceptional achievement in Ravager history. Recalled during the Beast Wave, he confronts Anubi after nobles die in the arena and insists that even corrupt subjects cannot be discarded for amusement. He recognizes the value of Su Chen's training methods and wants them used for the army, but his blunt moral criticism deepens the emperor's jealousy and keeps him away from the decisive front. After Anubi's fall, Averigus secretly supports Danba's coup and delivers the final betrayal that collapses the Inferno Tribe's old power. Public hatred forces him to disappear, producing rumors that Danba killed him or that guilt drove him into exile. He eventually reappears disguised among Danba's subordinates and signals a nearby reserve force, proving that the two remain aligned. Chapter 1148 later speaks of resurrecting him, establishing that he has died by then, but the corpus never records when, where, or how. (Chapters 721, 1037, and 1148)

Appearance and personality

Averigus is a middle-aged, masculine Ravager with a rare handsome appearance, a stalwart expression, and piercing eyes. His mixed ancestry contributes to his looks. When he drops a later disguise, his body becomes taller and broader and his aura again resembles that of a powerful general. (Chapters 705 and 1037)

He is disciplined, calm, intelligent, principled, and willing to confront authority directly. His loyalty is to the kingdom and its people rather than Anubi's whims, which the emperor interprets as disrespect. His later betrayal of the Inferno regime complicates that loyalty: he helps destroy the political order he once served, apparently because Danba offers a better future, but the text does not directly narrate his private justification or guilt. Abilities and cultivation

Averigus is explicitly a Perfection Realm Ravager, one of only two at that level during Anubi's campaign. At Perfection, a Ravager's totemic cultivation and life force can form a closed physical system capable of resisting domains that suppress surrounding Origin Energy. This establishes his exceptional bodily power, but the corpus does not show a full personal duel or identify named attacks, weapons, totems, baptisms, or the precise mechanics unique to him. His demonstrated strategic ability is equally important: he achieves rare parity against Astral forces while reducing casualties. In Chapter 1037 he changes from an ordinary subordinate's appearance back into his true form and uses an unknown silent signaling object.
