Biography

From marginal tribesman to city lord

Scorpion is a dark, thin Chaos Realm youth whose limited mutation leaves him marginal within his tribe until Saul destroys a Withered Ghost Vine before him. Mistaking Saul for the prophesied god, he offers himself as a slave and becomes an early believer in the Death Judge. His friendship with Noah then elevates him into clan leader and lord of Boulder City. Scorpion struggles with literacy and decisive administration, but his prestige makes replacement costly; he remains the public ruler while Noah directs expansion and considers turning him into a powerful wartime symbol. Appearance and personality

Scorpion is a dark-skinned, thin young man with a charred three-fingered arm growing near his tailbone. Laid-back, suggestible, and fond of shortcuts, he is loyal but poorly suited to complex government.

Abilities

His unusual rear arm and strong mental fluctuations mark him as physically mutated, but his principal power is social legitimacy among the Boulder tribes rather than wizard magic.

Relationships

• Noah: Noah befriends and promotes Scorpion, then uses him as Boulder City's public leader while privately doubting his competence.
• Saul: Scorpion worships Saul as the Death Judge whose intervention transformed his social position.
