Biography

A body shared with his sister

Haywood meets Saul as a warehouse apprentice whose dead sister Heidi lives in the witch-like face on the back of his head. He offers body-modification expertise and explains that he transferred her from a jar because he could not accept losing her, though her impulsive attempts to gain Saul's silver eye repeatedly create danger. Haywood later leaves the fallen tower for the Sighing Wall and participates in its defense. When Heidi is finally lost, he continues the wall's work with a numb composure rather than seeking another forced vessel for her. (Chapters 162, 180–183, 220–222, 431–440, 922, and 938–942)

Appearance and personality

Haywood has differently colored blue and purple eyes and keeps his head hooded to conceal the female face attached behind it. Reserved and technically minded, he is patient with Heidi's excesses until her actions endanger others; his devotion remains the central vulnerability beneath an otherwise controlled manner. Abilities

His expertise lies in bodily vessels, modification options, and maintaining an attached consciousness. Later work at the Sighing Wall also requires pollution resistance and formation defense, though his exact final rank is not established. (Chapters 162, 180–183, 922, and 938–942)
