Truelord Chiji

Truelord Chiji is one of the Pure Yang True Immortals invited to watch the final stages of the Grand Xia's Conclave of Immortal Destiny. His role is primarily evaluative: he reads the competitors' Dao comprehension, divine abilities, and tactical matchups from the Skylight Palace.

Observing the Conclave

Chiji sits among the nine Pure Yang True Immortals at the Skylight Palace as the Conclave narrows toward its strongest competitors. Alongside Lu Dongbin and the other guests, he watches events within the Brightmoon Diagram and treats each dangerous encounter as evidence of how the candidates think under pressure. He recognizes that Yu Wei's awakened memories were essential to escaping Cangwu Jiu and Xiamang Zishan, then joins the analysis of an even more dangerous six-person squad. (Chapter 331)

As the tournament moves to direct matches, Chiji does not merely praise spectacle. He identifies Ninedeaths' mastery of five complete Dao Paths and notes the exceptional techniques that let reincarnated Immortals turn old experience into current strength. When Ning reveals a divine ability that supports raw strength, Chiji distinguishes the underlying enhancement from the sword-art that delivers it. Disputing and predicting the bracket

Chiji openly challenges the Xia Emperor's decision to match Sloppy Daoist against Ninedeaths, arguing that both deserve to advance farther. The exchange shows that the invited Immortals are advisers and observers, not decision-makers: the emperor hears the criticism but retains control over the bracket and the political purposes behind it. He later appreciates the wave-like staff technique inherited from Grand Emperor Xuanwu, recognizing its underlying principle even while acknowledging that understanding a principle does not mean one can reproduce it. No consistent physical description is established for Chiji. He is direct, analytical, and comfortable disagreeing with imperial choices in the company of peers. Pure Yang True Immortal cultivation

Chiji is explicitly a Pure Yang True Immortal, one of nine at the Skylight Palace. This places him above the Wanxiang Adepts competing in the Conclave and explains why he can follow their Dao manifestations from outside the Brightmoon Diagram.
