Realmsoul Polo

Realmsoul Polo is the sentient steward of the Waveshift Realm and servant of Emperor Waveshift. He administers the contest for the Voidsea Jadeseals and Crimsonwave Temple's fruit seals, enforcing his master's rules while deliberately publicizing information that keeps the Daolords competing.

Biography

Revealing the Voidsea Jadeseals

For the first thousand years after the Daolords enter, Polo allows them to explore the Grand Waveshift Formation without direct guidance. When no one discovers a Voidsea Jadeseal, he intervenes by marking the first seal with a pillar of light visible throughout the realm. After the Radiant King secures it, Polo announces that result and reveals the second seal, warning that only supreme Daolords can survive where the remaining three are hidden. The warnings protect weaker entrants while the public locations ensure the prizes still produce genuine conflict. (Chapters 1088 and 1092–1093)

Polo simultaneously monitors the formation's stability. When Winesage attacks with a Universe treasure, Polo recognizes that repeated blows could damage the Grand Waveshift Formation and prepares to warn him if the destruction becomes indiscriminate. When Daolord Solesky becomes an Eternal Emperor inside the realm, Polo applies Waveshift's ban on Emperor-level entrants without treating the legitimate breakthrough as an invasion. He grants Solesky half a day to settle his affairs, then opens a rainbow corridor for his departure. (Chapters 1108 and 1110–1111)

Crimsonwave Temple

Polo reveals that the realm's tenth layer is Crimsonwave Temple, his master's greatest recovered treasure, and that it contains the final three Jadeseals. He appears to arriving groups, explains the Sithe guardians at the entrance, and identifies three internal routes. Inside, he tells challengers which world contains the Jadeseals, which contains the fruit-harvesting seals, and how the maps and transport diagrams connect them. He offers enough information for the trials to be understood without solving those trials for anyone. (Chapters 1110 and 1113–1119)

Keeping the competition active

Polo openly enjoys preventing any victory from becoming private. He announces each acquired Jadeseal, tells later entrants how far the leaders have progressed, and broadcasts when Ning takes the ninth command seal. These truthful announcements attract rivals to prize-holders and force even successful challengers to defend what they have won. Polo also limits each Daolord to one third-world corridor while allowing seals to be taken from other competitors, preserving both the designed distribution and the possibility of conflict. After all Jadeseals and command seals are claimed, Polo explains how to harvest the fruit or leave through the spatial tunnel. He later reports the private distribution of seals to the realm's Hegemons, confirming that his oversight continues after the visible contest concludes. (Chapters 1131 and 1134)

Appearance and personality

Polo manifests as a towering white-robed man assembled from rainbow light, often in many places at once. He is proud of Emperor Waveshift and Crimsonwave Temple, scrupulous about the literal rules, and amused by the chaos created when accurate information reaches every competitor. His guidance is not malicious deception: he warns weaker Daolords away from lethal areas and gives all qualified entrants the operating rules, then lets ambition create the danger. Abilities and cultivation

Realm-wide manifestation and perception

As the realmsoul, Polo can observe events throughout the Waveshift Realm and manifest countless rainbow-light projections before separate groups. These bodies speak, point, and interact as his presence, but the corpus does not present them as ordinary cultivator avatars with independent souls or personal combat cultivation. His reach is tied to the realm he stewards. (Chapters 1092, 1108, and 1110)

Grand Waveshift Formation authority

Polo monitors the stability of Emperor Waveshift's great formation and retains access to traps capable of counterattacking an Emperor who violates the entry ban. He can expose hidden layers, reveal the Crimsonwave Temple, and regulate access according to inherited instructions. This is administrative control over prepared infrastructure, not evidence that Polo personally created the formation or can reproduce its effects elsewhere. (Chapters 1108–1110)

Corridors, projections, and announcements

He opens rainbow corridors out of the realm, identifies spatial diagrams between Crimsonwave Temple's worlds, clears concealing mist, and broadcasts speech into every region of the realm or temple. These functions let him manage thousands of competitors and keep the state of the contest public. They do not let him arbitrarily hand prizes to entrants; seals still must be reached through the Sithe trials or taken from another holder. (Chapters 1110–1111 and 1122–1131)

Rule enforcement

Polo distinguishes between an Eternal Emperor who breaks in from outside and a Daolord who naturally succeeds in the Daomerge after lawful entry. He can compel the latter to leave but grants a short, explicit delay. The example shows that his authority operates through Emperor Waveshift's rules and the formation's enforcement mechanisms rather than personal whim. (Chapters 1110–1111)
