Prince Greatjoy

Prince Greatjoy is the leading World-level expert of the Palace of Spacetime, an honorary disciple of Hegemon Brightshore, and one of Ji Ning's principal companions on the expedition to an alternate universe.

Biography

The Twelve Palaces' foremost contender

Greatjoy enters the Daolord Cloudworld determined to seize the opportunity offered by Hegemon Brightshore, who has personally instructed him in the past. During the Silvercloud World trial, he demonstrates why the Twelve Palaces regard him as exceptional. He manifests six arms, drives through ranks of golems with bare-handed techniques, and manipulates the surrounding spacetime so that dozens of attackers cannot bring their numbers to bear. He reaches the 719th level, the best result of the contest, and becomes only the third known World-level member of the Twelve Palaces to pass level seven hundred. (Chapters 920 and 923–926)

The trial also reveals the breadth behind his reputation. Greatjoy has devised two Supreme Daos, reached near-perfection in the metal-aligned Illusory Jade secret art, and advanced deeply in both metal and spacetime. His victory earns him one of four places on a mission beyond the Endless Territories alongside Ji Ning, Heartlord Solewind, and Waterlord Firesurge. The companions are charged chiefly with escorting Skyfire Brightshore into an alternate universe, but the journey becomes a test of each cultivator's judgment and loyalty as much as raw power. Journey through the alternate universe

Greatjoy's mastery of spacetime is essential to the expedition's movement across immense distances. He also fights as part of a tightly coordinated group rather than demanding command because of his earlier victory. In the Sacred Immortal Realm, he joins the simultaneous assault on a prison and its grand formation. After Solewind spends an irreplaceable life-saving Dao-seal to kill a Daolord, Greatjoy immediately argues that the dead enemy's treasures should belong to Solewind, reasoning that even the entire hoard cannot repay what their companion sacrificed. At the Genesis Lands, Greatjoy confidently accepts trials that defeat the overwhelming majority of World-level cultivators. He reaches the inner regions, gains substantial benefits, and returns after thousands of years, but Ning is missing. Greatjoy waits with the others, worries over Ning's fate, and helps persuade Su Youji that Ning may have been transported elsewhere rather than simply abandoned. Daolord and final fate

After becoming a Daolord, Greatjoy hears that Ning has emerged as a powerful Heartforce Cultivator. He responds with a smile instead of envy, admits that Darknorth has taken the lead among their companions, and treats that success as a reason to train harder. Much later, Ning discovers a half-destroyed secret realm and reads its past through spacetime: Greatjoy had defeated an enemy in battle, but the dying foe destroyed the realm in a final suicide attack, killing them both. Appearance and personality

Greatjoy is a young man in unusual black imperial robes and a crown. His surface manner is calm, dignified, and princely, while battle exposes a wild, berserk refusal to concede defeat. That ferocity is balanced by loyalty and fairness: he shares danger without posturing, insists that Solewind be compensated for a costly sacrifice, worries about a missing Ning, and welcomes an ally's advancement as motivation rather than an insult. Dao of Spacetime

Greatjoy can place the spacetime around him in constant flux, changing speed, distance, and positioning so that massed enemies cannot coordinate. In the Silvercloud World, twenty or thirty golems may surround him, yet his manipulation ensures that no more than a few can effectively attack at once. Two Supreme Daos
