Immortal Abyssus — Desolate Era

Immortal Abyssus is a widely traveled Chaos Immortal and the strongest of Fogstone's six vassal World-level experts. He first verifies Ji Ning's qualifications for the Fogstone Army, then anchors the Dominion's defense against God Emperor Blacklotus.

Biography

Wanderer who settles on Fogstone

Abyssus roams many primordial-chaos territories with a following before settling on Fogstone. Most members of his household are former traveling companions, and despite his age he accepts only two new disciples after establishing his palace. His respect for the Starlord's talent and power, rather than dependence, explains why an outsider of his experience joins the Dominion. (Chapters 764 and 766)

When Ning asks a World-level expert to certify his combat strength, Abyssus is the first of Fogstone's nine powers to respond. He invites Ning to the Abyssus Palace, lets disciple Shadesoar conduct a controlled test, and forbids either participant from killing the other. After Ning wins while concealing much of his ability, Abyssus defers to World God Blackmist's superior sword judgment and allows Blackmist to perform the next test. (Chapters 764–766)

Mobilization against Blacklotus

Abyssus supports the Starlord's full mobilization against the Blacklotus Empire. He lends his privately owned Minor Thousand Elder God Formation—an asset worth roughly three hundred cubes of chaos nectar—so the army can field seven thousand linked Elder Gods and Ancestral Immortals. Once the capital's restrictive spells are neutralized, he enters with Immortal Skyram and World God Goldcloud to contain God Emperor Blacklotus while the remaining forces dismantle the enemy army. Holding the Forbidden Black Lotus

Blacklotus reveals strength far beyond the invaders' estimate. Abyssus identifies the danger from his experience, recognizes the Emperor's older identity as the murderous Daoist Blacklotus, and warns the others not to trust offers of peace. His ordinary-looking cloth banner suppresses lotuses rising from below and falling from above, creating a defensive perimeter while the Starlord attacks. As the Forbidden Black Lotus expands into a million-kilometer world, Abyssus protects himself and Ning with a Shadow Idol while Ning blocks the residual attacks that slip through. (Chapters 798–801)

The banner and idol keep the group alive but operate near Abyssus's limit. He openly acknowledges that a Chaos Immortal is weaker in close combat than a comparable World God and asks Ning to guard that weakness. When Blacklotus's Eternal weapon turns the battle hopeless, Abyssus retreats inside the seven-thousand-person formation and believes both he and his disciples will die. A superior stranger suddenly removes Blacklotus, saving the force; Abyssus is the first to recognize the intervention and offer respectful greetings. (Chapters 800–805)

Appearance and personality

Abyssus appears as an old man in loose white robes. He is gentle and curious when assessing Ning, willing to yield specialist judgment to Blackmist, and respectful toward the Starlord he chose to follow. In war he remains candid about limits: he warns allies when his defenses are nearly exhausted and thinks first of his disciples when defeat appears certain. (Chapters 765–766 and 798–804)

Abilities and cultivation

Chaos Immortal cultivation

Abyssus is a Chaos Immortal, the Ki-refining counterpart to a World God, and ranks directly behind the Starlord among the combatants Ning observes. His World energy and treasures support powerful ranged and defensive effects. As a pure Chaos Immortal, however, he lacks the close-combat body of a World God or dual refiner and requires protection when an enemy penetrates his treasure perimeter. (Chapters 764, 799–800)

His strongest displayed treasure is an ordinary-looking cloth banner that emits and shapes light to suppress enormous numbers of black lotuses. It can spread across the battlefield, coil inward as layered protection, and block more than ninety percent of attacks before they reach the innermost defense. The banner is powerful enough to frustrate God Emperor Blacklotus but not to defeat him; simultaneous Lotus Hell attacks push Abyssus to his limit. (Chapters 799–800)

Shadow Idol

The Shadow Idol manifests as an illusory black shadow roughly three hundred meters across. Black lotuses appearing within its area are shattered, and it shelters Abyssus together with nearby allies. Repeated strikes still consume its endurance, so Abyssus uses the banner as an outer filter and asks Ning to stop the remaining lotuses before they collide with the idol. It is a last defensive layer, not an independent invulnerable domain. (Chapter 800)

Abyssus Palace

The black Abyssus Palace is a Dao treasure whose golden ripples impress even Ning. Abyssus and his followers used it to survive dangerous regions while wandering the primordial chaos. In the supplied arc it serves as residence and controlled testing hall; restrictive spells automatically isolate Ning's sparring match. Its exact offensive capabilities are not shown. (Chapters 764–766)

Minor Thousand Elder God Formation

Abyssus personally owns and lends a formation set that links one thousand Elder Gods or Ancestral Immortals into a unified battle body. The set is extremely expensive and depends on a full complement of trained operators. Abyssus supplies the infrastructure to the Dominion rather than personally controlling all thousand members during the invasion. (Chapters 791, 793, and 796)
