Fuxi

Fuxi is one of the Three Sovereigns of mankind and the Three Realms' premier formation grandmaster. Born an Elder God with the Heavenly Dao of Destruction, he reincarnates as a human and devotes his second life to formations, Yin and Yang, and a Waterflame Apocalypse that controls entire battlefields.

Biography

Elder God and Human Sovereign

Fuxi is born from primordial chaos as one of ten Elder Gods with innate control over a Heavenly Dao—his is Destruction. He is especially close to Nuwa and dislikes the Primordial Era's constant wars, but watches her continue making breakthroughs while his own path stagnates. He eventually seals his memories and kills himself so that a reincarnated life can pursue the opposing Heavenly Dao of Life without interference. (Chapters 551 and 565)

Reborn as a human, he rises with Suiren and Shennong as one of the Three Sovereigns who transform humanity from a weak race into a leading power. His old memories are meant to return when he fully masters Life; during the main war they remain sealed. Even without them, he masters the Heavenly Daos of Yin and Yang, retains strong affinities for Life and Destruction, and reaches overlord combat power. He chooses formations as the central vocation of this human life. (Chapters 551, 565, 598, and 738–739)

Formation research

Fuxi creates the portable sixty-four-piece Fuxi Staff Formation, which later practitioners can configure into sealing, killing, defensive, or bewildering arrays according to their own understanding. In primordial chaos he spends long periods studying moving runes and refining more ambitious systems. His Waterflame Apocalypse Formation joins Suiren's Eternal Kindlefire with Arcane Moonwater that Fuxi extracts from the Lunar Star. When Ning supplies alien techniques, Fuxi disassembles their principles and uses their unfamiliar approach to improve his own work. (Chapters 187 and 597–599)

Campaign in the Primordial Ruinworld

The Nuwa Alliance assigns Fuxi to the invasion because formation knowledge lets him protect squads and solve prepared defenses. In the Goldriver world, three Waterians and Witherspike's arrays trap his force. Ning arrives and occupies the Waterians while Fuxi concentrates on deconstruction. Because there is no time for a complete solution, he identifies critical flows and directs Ning's Elder God-level force against them, destabilizing the system until it opens. (Chapters 712–718)

Fuxi then deploys Waterflame Apocalypse across the battlefield. Dragons of Arcane Moonwater and Eternal Kindlefire coil around Witherspike, and their joined principles slow an enemy whose durable body ignores the elements' direct damage. The intervention buys Tathagata time but does not let Fuxi defeat Witherspike in a duel. After Ning rescues the Buddha, Fuxi admits that his formation-oriented abilities made him less effective against the two elite Elder Gods in direct combat. (Chapters 719–720)

The Endwar and enslavement

During the Endwar, Fuxi commands 3,600 Pure Yang True Immortals in a Nuwa Heaven Repairing Formation. His Waterflame Apocalypse suppresses huge regions, and the Yin-Yang Birth and Destruction technique becomes one of the Nuwa Alliance's main tools for controlling the massed armies. Its coverage lets allied overlords focus on the most dangerous individual enemies. (Chapters 737–745)

After Demonheart dies, the alliances prepare a settlement. Fuxi suddenly turns Waterflame Apocalypse on his own side, killing many Immortals and Fiendgods before Ning's frozen domain checks the attack. Old Man Yuan reveals that he infiltrated Fuxi's soul over countless years so gradually that neither Fuxi nor his friends noticed. Fuxi has become a soulslave, and the betrayal is not a voluntary reversal of his loyalties. The Mindlord later extinguishes the controlled servants once their use ends. (Chapters 747–755)

Fuxi remains dead through the later eras of the Chaosverse. Once Ning becomes Lord of Chaos, he recreates the Three Realms and restores its fallen powers, including Fuxi, Tathagata, Shennong, and Suiren. (Chapter 1450)

Appearance and personality

Fuxi is a tall, muscular man who wears Daoist robes covered in Taiji diagrams, Eight Trigrams, stellar maps, and other formation patterns. Countless runes often move around him while he works. He is welcoming and generous with insight, but can become absorbed enough in a formation to study for a full day before noticing his guests. His willingness to reincarnate despite already being an Elder God shows the same dissatisfaction with easy limits that drives his technical research. (Chapters 565 and 598)

Abilities and cultivation

Formation grandmastery

Fuxi is the foremost formation expert native to the Three Realms. He reads arrays as interacting cycles rather than fixed walls, identifies critical nodes, adapts alien principles, and designs structures that let thousands of cultivators combine power. His formations cover every major function: concealment, sealing, movement restriction, defense, army coordination, and large-area killing. Prepared systems are his strongest environment; in an unstructured one-on-one clash, he is less dominant than close-combat overlords. (Chapters 187, 598, and 712–720)

Fuxi Staff Formation

The Fuxi Staff Formation uses eight arrays of eight staffs, sixty-four pieces in total. Its value lies in reconfiguration: a skilled user can produce many different formations from the same portable set, attacking, disappearing, sealing space, or layering illusions and killing zones. Fuxi's own legendary mastery can produce world-shaking arrays, while lesser users obtain results proportional to their insight. The staffs are equipment and a formation language, not an automatic source of Fuxi's full power. (Chapters 187, 261–262, and 331–349)

Waterflame Apocalypse Formation

This formation combines Eternal Kindlefire and Arcane Moonwater, supreme substances beyond ordinary truefire and truewater. Spread broadly, it transforms a vast area into opposing seas of fire and water, slows armies, and lets Fuxi determine where the destructive currents flow. Its strength is scale and environmental control; a smaller concentrated domain can resist parts of it, and extraordinarily durable Elder Gods may be slowed without suffering decisive damage. (Chapters 598, 719, 738, and 747)

Yin-Yang Birth and Destruction

Fuxi's strongest Waterflame application uses water as Life and Yin, fire as Destruction and Yang, then joins the four concepts in a rotating Taiji structure. He has mastered Yin and Yang and is deeply talented in both Life and Destruction because of his two lives, but the chapters distinguish talent from complete present-life mastery of both opposing Heavenly Daos. The Nuwa Heaven Repairing Formation supplies enough collective power for the technique to become an Endwar-level attack. (Chapter 738)

Dao-seals and battlefield analysis

Fuxi can study a foreign technique by separating its underlying structure and then reproduce compatible Dao-seals once he obtains the materials. He values principles that expand the civilization's shared toolset over techniques useful only to one fighter. At Goldriver, the same analytical method lets him turn Ning's raw force into a precise formation-breaking instrument. (Chapters 598 and 716–719)

Limits of the reincarnated path

His original Elder God body and Destruction mastery do not simply carry over intact after reincarnation. The human Fuxi's sealed memories await full mastery of Life, and his main demonstrated strength comes through formation-assisted Ancestral Immortal power and collective arrays. The distinction explains why his ancient identity can coexist with vulnerability to elite Elder Gods and the Mindlord's long-term infiltration. (Chapters 565, 712–720, 738, and 747–748)

• Tathagata: Fuxi works urgently to break the Goldriver trap and uses Waterflame Apocalypse to keep Witherspike from finishing Tathagata. (Chapters 712–720)
• Ji Ning: Ning provides foreign formation principles, supplies the force needed to break Goldriver, blocks controlled Fuxi's Endwar attack, and eventually resurrects him. (Chapters 598, 712–720, 747, and 1450)
