Emperor Blackcloud
Emperor Blackcloud is one of the two ancient Eternal Emperors who jointly administer the Dao Alliance's Palace of Immortals. He safeguards its immense treasury, helps represent the Alliance at the highest level, and is the master of Daolord Dreamlore.
Biography
Dreamlore's master
Blackcloud first appears celebrating with Emperor Goldisle after his disciple Daolord Dreamlore defeats the Radiant King. He explains that Dreamlore chose an evil bloodblade from the Terror Starsea when allowed one treasure after becoming a Daolord. Blackcloud did not impose a conventional path on him; he supplied the opportunity, watched his disciple become completely devoted to the weapon, and takes amused pride when that obsession produces one of the strongest Daolords of the era. (Chapter 1087)
Custodian of the Dao Alliance treasury
Blackcloud and Goldisle jointly run the Palace of Immortals, making them more influential than many individually stronger cultivators. When Ji Ning earns access to the Dao Alliance treasury, Blackcloud welcomes him, praises the speed of his rise, and personally opens its layered stone doors. He and Goldisle allow the Northbow swords to inspect tens of millions of extraordinary treasures for compatible materials, while insisting that the later exchange remain fair between the Dao Alliance and the other major organizations. (Chapters 1136–1137)
The episode illustrates the Alliance's unusual power structure. Blackcloud is an administrator rather than an autocrat: the Dao Alliance is vast and loosely governed, and even its treasury transaction must respect agreements made with Hegemons of other factions. His control of the barriers is operational authority over communal assets, not proof that those treasures belong to him personally. (Chapters 1136–1137)
Conferences and Darknorth's final years
After Ning defeats Silksnow Fiend Palace, Blackcloud joins the Great Flamedragon Conference alongside Goldisle, the realmverse's three Hegemons, and its most powerful reclusive Emperors. He listens to bids for the Omega Sword Dao and is named among the Emperors who deeply desire insight that might help them reach Hegemony. When Emperor Goldface pushes the gathering toward conflict, Blackcloud does not attack Ning and departs on civil terms after Daoist Bluestone ends the confrontation. (Chapters 1201–1204)
Blackcloud remains one of the Dao Alliance contacts through whom Ning hopes to reach an Autarch. He later waits anxiously with the other major powers during Ning's Daomerge and, after it fails, visits Vastheaven Palace as a friend rather than a treasure-seeker. His last direct appearance places him alive among the Hegemons and Emperors who regret the loss of a cultivator they have come to respect. (Chapters 1222, 1288, and 1290)
Appearance and personality
Blackcloud appears as a black-haired, black-robed elder with an aura of immense power. He is genial in most shown scenes, laughing over Dreamlore's eccentricity, welcoming Ning to the treasury, and treating major gatherings as rare chances to see old friends.
That warmth coexists with institutional caution. He proudly notes that the treasury's barriers deter even Hegemons and participates in careful, rule-bound negotiations. He wants to advance to Hegemony and values Ning's Dao, but never lets that desire turn into the coercion advocated by Emperor Goldface.
Abilities and cultivation
Ancient Eternal Emperor
Blackcloud is a powerful Eternal Emperor whose aura impresses even elite Daolords. He is somewhat below the realmverse's Hegemons in individual standing but belongs at conferences limited to its greatest powers. The narrative does not name his core Dao, weapon, or ultimate attack, so his personal combat mechanics cannot be described more narrowly without invention. (Chapters 1087, 1136, and 1201)
Treasury barriers and wards
Blackcloud can command the doors and access systems of the Palace of Immortals treasury. The approach is filled with layered barriers and wards strong enough that even Hegemons would not dare trespass casually. His spoken command and gesture open the protected passages for an authorized visitor. These defenses belong to the Palace and likely depend on its formations; the scene does not establish that Blackcloud can reproduce their full power away from the treasury. (Chapters 1136–1137)
Institutional reach
As joint administrator, Blackcloud has access to the Dao Alliance's enormous inventory, intelligence, and links between distant territories. Ning considers Blackcloud and Goldisle the appropriate figures to contact when he needs an Autarch invited into the Flamedragon Realmverse. This is a network and office-backed capability rather than a personal spacetime technique. (Chapters 1136–1137 and 1222)
Instruction and treasure judgment
Blackcloud recognizes the value of weapon devotion and supplied Dreamlore with the bloodblade that shaped his entire path. He also understands lifeblood-weapon materials well enough to supervise Ning's treasury search and subsequent exchange. The corpus demonstrates judgment and access, but does not show Blackcloud forging the blade or teaching Dreamlore a named technique. (Chapters 1087 and 1136–1137)
