Daolord Yinwind

Daolord Yinwind is a vice palace lord of the Saber Palace in the Brightshore Kingdom. He represents his palace during the selection of World-level geniuses for the alternate-universe opportunity and becomes a vocal, partisan observer of the competition.

Contesting the expedition places

Yinwind enters the selection discussion by arguing that the Saber Palace deserves two of only four available positions. His demand reflects the palace's unusually strong generation of World-level cultivators and his responsibility to advance their interests. Other palace leaders challenge the claim, forcing the candidates to prove themselves in the Silvercloud World rather than receiving places through reputation. (Chapter 912)

Watching the Saber Palace fall behind

As the trial unfolds, Yinwind closely follows every ranking change. He needles Sword Palace representative Woodflower when Swordlord Wildfire fails just before the six-hundredth level, but his confidence erodes as Prince Greatjoy eliminates a Saber Palace candidate and the Saber Palace ultimately loses every top-four slot. He recognizes Ji Ning's breakthrough and agrees that Darknorth is destined to become one of the Twelve Palaces' supreme members, while lamenting that such a talent joined the Sword Palace rather than his own.
