Daolord Inkmind

Daolord Inkmind is a violet-robed Second-Step Daolord chosen to make first contact with Ji Ning and the Ninedust Sectlord after they enter his isolated world. He serves as a cautious guide between the outlanders and the planet's sacred grounds.

Biography

The Prophets descend

Inkmind is present when the Grand Elder's mirror reveals that two new “Prophets” have crossed the world's nine barriers. Remembering that the third such visitor devastated the planet, he initially panics. The Grand Elder orders him to make contact anyway, and Inkmind approaches Ning and Ninedust as an emissary rather than a challenger. He explains the local title and escorts them toward the underground palace while preserving the sacred grounds' readiness to defend itself. (Chapters 1039 and 1044–1045)

Revealing the ancestral record

Inkmind recounts how earlier outlanders brought cultivation, protection, and catastrophe. His honesty serves two purposes: it expresses gratitude while warning that the locals have killed a hostile Prophet before. Once Ning confirms interest in the ancestral lands, Inkmind screens Skywind and Su Youji behind an Immortal-energy barrier and presents Emperor Vulturas's snow-white scroll, which explains the worldsplitter stones and the route onward. Attending the visitors

After guiding the group underground, Inkmind offers tours, access to local Sword Dao legacies for Skywind, and practical information about the world's core. His true body remains for thousands of years while Ning and Ninedust cultivate. He warns that waiting several hundred thousand years would greatly reduce the density of earth devils, but accepts their decision to enter immediately and is among the first to see them return safely. Appearance and personality

Inkmind is a violet-robed man. He begins visibly frightened by the historical danger of Prophets, yet carries out his assignment with formal courtesy. He is proud of the Sacred Ancestor's legacy, tactful when restricting information, and patient enough to attend dangerous guests for millennia. His caution is practical rather than cowardly: he offers a safer timetable and lets stronger leaders decide when the risk remains. (Chapters 1039 and 1044–1049)

Abilities and cultivation

Second-Step Daolord cultivation

Inkmind emanates the aura of a Daolord of the Second Step. That rank grants him Immortal energy, godsense, long-distance flight, and authority over local cultivators, but the scoped chapters do not show him in a direct battle or name his Dao. His combat ceiling should therefore not be inferred from the planet's collective defensive formations. (Chapters 1039–1049)

Immortal-energy barrier

With a wave, Inkmind surrounds Skywind and Su Youji in blurry light that prevents them from seeing or hearing the secret discussion. The barrier is precise information control rather than an attack; the two remain unharmed and could choose not to disrupt it. No evidence shows that it would imprison an unwilling peer-level Daolord. Transportation and guidance

Inkmind pilots a flying vessel, accesses a guarded teleportation array leading 190 million kilometers underground, and supplies descriptions accurate enough for Ning and Ninedust to recognize worldsplitter stones. These capabilities depend on institutional access and accumulated records, distinguishing his role as an emissary from ownership of the Sacred Ancestor's strongest formations. (Chapters 1045–1048)
