Daolord Battlemaster
Daolord Battlemaster is a senior Fourth-Step Daolord of Vastheaven Palace whose numerancy and battle judgment help protect the organization. He welcomes Ji Ning, observes the Clearwind conflict, and later helps defend the palace through an avatar.
Biography
Welcoming Darknorth
Battlemaster stands beside Solesky when Ning reaches Vastheaven Palace and becomes a formal member. Enemy cultivators fear his Numerancy because he can plan pursuit even after they escape immediate danger. Battlemaster and the other palace Daolords feel relieved once Ning completes the welcoming ceremony, recognizing that the young cultivator will become a lifelong brother rather than merely a visitor carrying a talisman. (Chapters 987–994)
Clearwind settlement
When Patriarch Clearwind besieges Vastheaven Palace, Battlemaster watches Ning's return and battle. He identifies the moment Clearwind enters a divine-power-consuming killer state and understands that its strength cannot be sustained indefinitely. After Ning forces the patriarch to concede, Battlemaster shares the palace's satisfaction at ending a feud that has lasted tens of thousands of chaos cycles and helps evaluate the settlement. (Chapters 995–1002)
Palace defense by avatar
During later threats, Battlemaster leaves only an avatar at the emptied palace alongside Solesky and Brightfish. He examines Mistbearer's dangerous stone globe, learns that Ning has established a heartworld, and retreats when Ning's avatar takes responsibility for direct combat. The arrangement preserves his true body while allowing him to advise and represent Vastheaven Palace. (Chapters 1075–1082)
Appearance and personality
Battlemaster is a white-robed man with blue hair. He is cautious, perceptive, and institutionally loyal. His reactions center on risks to Vastheaven Palace and its members, and he accepts retreat when Ning's specialized powers make him the better combatant. (Chapters 989–1001 and 1075–1082)
Abilities and cultivation
Fourth-Step Daolord
Battlemaster is close to Solesky in strength and has reached the Fourth Step, although he avoids the Dao Alliance's most dangerous internal struggles. The scoped battles show his analysis rather than a named offensive technique, so his rank should not be expanded into unsupported combat mechanics. (Chapters 815 and 1002)
Numerancy
His calculations can track threats and produce plans enemies consider terrifying even if they flee the Vastheaven Everworld. Numerancy is not omniscient: clouds concealing Ning's future prevent a clean reading, and Battlemaster must still use observed evidence to judge specific attacks. (Chapters 987–989)
Avatar
Battlemaster can maintain a disposable avatar representing roughly ten million cubes of chaos nectar and significant effort. It lets him remain at the palace without risking his true body, but carries less strategic weight than the original and can be sacrificed in a crisis. (Chapters 1076–1080)
