Biography

Escalation with Vastheaven Palace

Clearwind Temple and Vastheaven Palace have fought for tens of thousands of chaos cycles. After Ning rescues Eastherd and captures Daolord Blesswind, the temple's conflict escalates toward its patriarch. Clearwind's followers expect an easy victory over a World-level cultivator, but he warns them not to grow complacent because great strokes of luck can place extraordinary treasures in a young cultivator's hands. He brings pressure against Vastheaven Palace while Ning's distant clone races back. (Chapters 984–995)

Defeat and settlement

Ning asks Solesky for a careful account of Clearwind's strengths and weaknesses, then fights him after advancing to the Second Step. Clearwind uses a wind-form body and forbidden secret arts, but Ning's septessence thunder, septessence water, sword domain, and protective armor overturn the expected difference in rank. Realizing the cost of continuing, Clearwind bows his head and asks for terms. The settlement ends a feud that neither side had resolved across tens of thousands of chaos cycles and requires substantial treasure compensation. (Chapters 998–1012)

Appearance and personality

The corpus emphasizes Clearwind's calm manner more than a fixed physical portrait. He is proud enough to sustain an ancient institutional feud, but not careless: he warns subordinates against underestimating Ning and eventually accepts humiliation and material loss rather than continue an unwinnable escalation. Fourth-Step Dao of Wind

Clearwind has reached the Verge of the Daomerge as a Fourth-Step Daolord. In battle his divine body becomes blurry and gust-like, allowing wind to ablate incoming septessence thunder and water. This dispersal reduces pressure rather than making him invulnerable; Ning's combined secret arts can still overwhelm the defense. (Chapters 993 and 999–1000)

Forbidden secret arts

When pressured, Clearwind uses forbidden methods to exceed his normal output. Later comparisons describe attacks stronger than the force he demonstrates under those arts, indicating both their seriousness and their limit. They cannot bridge the gap created by Ning's secret arts, sword skill, and Hegemon armor. (Chapters 999–1006)

Temple authority

As patriarch, Clearwind commands Fourth- and Third-Step Daolords and directs the temple's long conflict with Vastheaven Palace. His power is therefore organizational as well as personal. Defeat forces the entire temple to accept terms, showing that his decisions bind the faction. (Chapters 986–1001)
