Daoist Jadesea

Daoist Jadesea is the headmaster of the Black-White College when Ji Ning and Mu Northson enter the school. He combines institutional authority with an informal, humorous manner, guiding new disciples while protecting the college's most sensitive legacies.

Biography

Evaluating the new disciples

Jadesea first observes the Black-White College's newly accepted disciples alongside Immortal Diancai. He provides Diancai with a detailed account of Ji Ning's background, including the conflict with Snowdragon Mountain and Ning's inheritance from Immortal Northwalker. After Ning reaches the Black-White Diagram, Jadesea gives him a confidential scroll explaining the importance of the complete [Three-Foot Sword] legacy and orders him to destroy it after reading. His intervention ensures that Ning understands both the value of the inheritance and the danger of revealing it. (Chapters 161–162)

Induction and continued oversight

At the formal induction, Jadesea presents Ning and Northson to the assembled college, administers their blood oath, and invites them to choose Daoist titles. His joking description of their appearances relaxes the ceremony, but he is firm that members of the college must remain united and never engage in fratricide. He later monitors Ning's Dao Debate through water-scrying, recognizes the signs of a Sword Immortal, and goes personally to examine the result. During Stillwater's later chaos, he stops delaying his breakthrough, reaches the Void level, and becomes an Earth Immortal. (Chapters 163, 179–180, and 395)

Appearance and personality

Jadesea appears as a handsome white-robed youth whose hand is described as unusually pure and jade-white. He is influential enough to lead the college, yet his speech is playful rather than remote: the assembled disciples laugh at his teasing during the induction ceremony. Beneath that ease is careful judgment. He collects intelligence on recruits, preserves the secrecy of dangerous legacies, and immediately investigates signs of exceptional talent. Abilities and cultivation

Cultivation and breakthrough

Jadesea begins as one of the Black-White College's Primal Daoists and serves as its headmaster. The college's Primal Daoists are unusually formidable, with some comparable to ordinary Immortals. By Chapter 395, external danger prompts him to complete a previously delayed breakthrough to the Void level and become an Earth Immortal. His exact combat art is not demonstrated. (Chapters 162–163 and 395)

Water-scrying and discernment

He creates a watery scrying mirror to watch a Dao Debate from elsewhere in the college. The mirror conveys images but not the combatants' auras or the world's subtle ripples, a limitation that prompts Jadesea to travel to the scene rather than rely on incomplete information. Even through the imperfect image, he identifies that Ning may have embarked upon the path of a Sword Immortal. (Chapters 179–180)
