Autarch Stonerule is the cultivator civilization's Autarch of Illusions, a mind-focused supreme expert whose abilities range from instant mental subversion to supporting the final Sword Titan.

Biography

Welcoming the Eternal Omega Dao's master

Stonerule meets Ji Ning when the Autarchs assemble around the new master of the Eternal Omega Sword Dao. Although his peers explain that his supernatural charm can instantly subvert ordinary Hegemons and Otherverse Lords, he dismisses the feat as a collection of parlor tricks. The modesty is genuine but qualified: Ning's perfect Dao-heart is one of the rare minds on which the passive effect cannot gain purchase. (Chapter 1323)

During the council, Stonerule helps place the Sithe danger in historical context. He confirms that their fortified homeland cannot simply be expelled from the Chaosverse and joins the decision to treat Ning as a peer whose Omega Dao may solve problems the original Autarchs could not. His role is not merely ceremonial; his mastery of illusion gives Ning a benchmark for developing an Illusion Sword Dao and makes him part of the civilization's most secret strategic deliberations. Preparing for Truesoul Everlasting and renewed war

When Ning seeks to reverse truesoul fragmentation, Stonerule is direct about the limits of Autarch experience: none of them underwent the same disintegration after failing the Daomerge, so even their authority cannot supply a proven answer. He nevertheless contributes to the collective effort around the Five Truncheon Chapters and supports strict secrecy because surviving Sithe spies could exploit any weakness in Ning's condition. As suspicious Sithe movements increase, Stonerule searches the Chaosverse with his peers and reports the absence of openly moving Exalts. That negative result matters: it supports the conclusion that the enemy is concealing its strongest pieces rather than remaining inactive. He consequently enters the final campaign knowing that the visible Sithe forces are only part of the threat. (Chapters 1407–1408 and 1412–1422)

Sword Titan, sacrifice, and restoration

In the Grassland World assault, Stonerule asks Ning to guide both the Sword Titan and Avatar Titan while the Autarchs supply their different Daobirth Essences. He adds his illusion domain to the combined World stance and later sacrifices more than half his mana-body so the formation can release a desperate surge of power. These choices make his contribution structural: the titan's attacks depend on multiple Autarch energies merging under Ning's Sword Dao rather than on any one Autarch fighting alone. (Chapters 1436 and 1440–1442)

When the Sword Titan collapses, a black warbeast catches Stonerule during the attempted escape and annihilates him, devouring his truesoul fragments. After Ning becomes Lord of the Chaosverse, he reassembles Stonerule along with the other fallen Autarchs. Stonerule therefore dies in the final campaign but is alive again at the story's end, reunited with all eight native Autarchs. (Chapters 1444–1445 and 1450)

Appearance and personality

Stonerule appears as a perfectly beautiful man whose presence carries supernatural magnetism. The effect is part of his cultivation rather than ordinary attractiveness: minds without a perfect Dao-heart can be drawn under his control almost instantly. In conversation he is courteous, self-effacing, and sober about uncertainty. In the final war, that gentleness coexists with absolute resolve; he accepts Ning's leadership, sacrifices his own body for the formation, and continues fighting when survival is no longer likely. Abilities and cultivation

Illusion Daobirth Essence

Stonerule attained Autarchy through the Dao of Illusions and controls its Daobirth Essence. His divine body naturally radiates a charm capable of instantly subverting Hegemons and Otherverse Lords, turning mental influence into obedience without a conventional exchange of blows. The decisive limitation is Dao-heart quality: a perfect Dao-heart such as Ning's remains unmoved. The ability is therefore devastating against most high-level cultivators but not an automatic victory over the rare minds whose inner foundations are flawless. (Chapter 1323)

Illusion theory and sword integration

His attainments make him the civilization's standard for illusion. Ning's Illusion Sword Dao is judged only somewhat below Stonerule's art, showing that Stonerule's expertise is not limited to passive charm; it encompasses the principles by which perception, emotion, and apparent reality can be manipulated. The corpus does not assign him Ning's sword techniques, however, and his illusion Dao remains a distinct path rather than a sword art. (Chapter 1360)

Autarch body, domain, and formation support

As an Autarch, Stonerule can draw upon the Chaosverse and manifest a mana-body with immense energy reserves. Within the Golden Bridges and Sword Titan, his illusion domain merges with the other Daobirth Essence domains under Ning's guidance, allowing the composite body to use power no individual participant could safely release alone. The formation is cooperative and vulnerable to attrition: once multiple Autarchs die, it loses structural integrity and collapses. (Chapters 1436 and 1440–1444)

Sacrificial energy release

Stonerule can convert a large portion of his mana-body into controlled raw power instead of merely self-detonating. This dramatically strengthens the World of Liberation and the titan's attacks, but the cost is permanent battlefield depletion and leaves the contributors in weakened bodies. It is an emergency measure, not sustainable amplification, and it contributes to the party's inability to escape once the formation fails. (Chapter 1442)

Relationships

• Ji Ning: Stonerule welcomes Ning as an equal, provides a standard for Ning's illusion studies, and entrusts him with leadership of the final titan formation. Ning later restores him after binding the Chaosverse. (Chapters 1323, 1360, 1440, and 1450)
• Autarch Titanos: They deliberate over the Sithe, Truesoul Everlasting, and the final campaign. Stonerule supports abandoning reserve plans when total commitment becomes necessary. (Chapters 1382–1383 and 1438–1439)
• Autarch Bolin: Bolin fights beside Stonerule in the Sword Titan and mourns him before Ning's restoration reunites the Autarchs. (Chapters 1436–1449)
