Arroyo

Arroyo is a blood-robed World God secretly serving Aeonian interests in the Allgod Estate. Born to a powerful but merciless ancient clan, he pursues the divine blood of the Eternal in hope of becoming a true Aeonian, only to lose the Castrum Divinitus contest and die while attempting to take the prize from Ji Ning.

Biography

The Samsara Grinders

Arroyo enters the Castrum Divinitus with a party of retainers and competes against Fukai's group for its inheritance. He answers the formation-spirit respectfully but accepts the fortress's brutal rule: each challenger must stake followers in the Samsara Grinders, and defeat means their deaths. Arroyo watches his retainer Darkfall lose to a golden warrior and understands that the man cannot be saved. The trials gradually kill or separate the supporting forces until Arroyo and Fukai become the principal surviving rivals. (Chapters 841–846)

The contest gives Arroyo a breakthrough but not the prize. Ji Ning wins the divine blood of the Eternal, while the Castrum's spirits suspect that Arroyo and Fukai are pawns sent by the Aeonians because they care about that blood above every other treasure. Arroyo leaves before Fukai. When they meet outside, he uses that fact to prove he cannot already possess the blood: if he had won it, he would have fled instead of waiting. The rivals suspend their hostility and join World God Boneplate in sealing off the surrounding chaosworld. (Chapters 847–849)

Waiting for the Eternal blood

For three thousand years, Arroyo's group watches every route out of the Allgod Estate. When an enormous chaos-energy vortex announces Ning's advancement to the World level, they correctly identify the long-awaited target. Their strategy depends on attacking before Ning consolidates the breakthrough, but the delay has also allowed Ning to become far stronger than the Elder God they expected. (Chapters 850–852)

Arroyo is nevertheless the only attacker who can meet Ning near his new level. The Samsara Grinders transformed him into a transcendent World God with power at the threshold of a first-step Daolord. He confronts Ning with Fukai, Boneplate, and eighteen Hellwind Golems. Their numerical advantage fails: Ning's enhanced divine body and sword-arts let him overpower the golems, kill the weaker allies, and gain a slight advantage over Arroyo himself. (Chapters 854–856)

Defeat and death

Ning restrains Arroyo with the Ruyi Soulsnake Shuttle and places him inside a golden gourd whose opposing energies grind away divine power and body. As death approaches, Arroyo remembers fighting upward through his father's cold clan, where every descendant had to earn survival through conflict. He became his father's favored child but never achieved the identity he truly wanted—a genuine member of the Aeonian race. He recognizes the symmetry of his end: someone who killed for treasure has finally been killed in the same way. The gourd destroys him in Chapter 858, and Ning later uses the wealth and temporal-acceleration treasure left among his spoils. (Chapters 857–860 and 876)

Appearance and personality

Arroyo is a blood-robed youth with bloodsea-like eyes. He carries the hard, suspicious demeanor produced by an upbringing in which siblings and relatives competed through violence for their father's favor.

He is ruthless but not irrational. Arroyo sacrifices retainers under the fortress's rules, berates Fukai into recognizing that neither has the blood, and waits thousands of years rather than abandoning the objective. His final reflections show self-awareness rather than repentance: he understands that his death follows the same predatory law by which he built his life.

Abilities and cultivation

Transcendent World God

Arroyo begins as a master-class World God and breaks through during the Samsara Grinders, becoming a transcendent World God. His raw combat power reaches the threshold of a first-step Samsara Daolord, far above ordinary World Gods and above Fukai's supreme-World-God level. “Transcendent” here describes battle power within the World level; Arroyo does not actually become a Daolord before his death. (Chapters 845 and 854–856)

Close combat

Arroyo can exchange direct blows with a newly advanced Ning and is only slightly inferior at the opening of their fight. His strength comes from his improved World God body and hard-won combat experience. The comparison also establishes his limit: Ning's azureflower mist energy produces a divine body at the same general Daolord threshold, while superior sword-arts let Ning apply that power more efficiently. Arroyo therefore cannot reverse the fight once the supporting golems and allies fall. (Chapters 854–856)

Hellwind Golem control

Arroyo controls eighteen Hellwind Golems through a soul connection. The link lets him direct them as a group and continue seeing their battle while his own body is trapped inside the golden gourd. They add pressure and battlefield coverage but cannot restrain Ning after his advancement. Because Arroyo remains mentally linked, he also witnesses the destruction of his allies and the collapse of the ambush from inside the prison. (Chapters 855–858)

Dao-heart and endurance

The Castrum Divinitus trials demand survival through lethal matches and solitary tests. Arroyo completes enough of them to improve dramatically, demonstrating an exceptionally hardened will. That will does not provide immunity to the gourd's physical grinding forces: once restrained, he can only expend divine power to delay bodily destruction. The prison depletes him faster than he can recover until both body and life are extinguished. (Chapters 843–858)

Relationships

  • Ji Ning: The winner of the Eternal blood, target of Arroyo's ambush, and opponent who kills him.
  • Fukai: Rival challenger turned temporary ally; they cooperate only after concluding that Ning holds their shared objective.
  • World God Boneplate: The third member of the blockade outside the Allgod Estate.
  • Darkfall: Arroyo's retainer, whose loss in the Samsara Grinders he is forced to accept.
  • The Aeonians: The race Arroyo secretly serves and longs to join through the divine blood of the Eternal.

Items

  • Eighteen Hellwind Golems: A coordinated golem force controlled through Arroyo's soul and deployed in the final ambush.
  • Temporal-acceleration treasure: A structure capable of fifty-times normal time without special effort and up to two hundred times with heavy energy expenditure; Ning takes it after Arroyo's death.
  • Other treasures and chaos nectar: Wealth recovered by Ning after the battle; individual ownership between Arroyo and Fukai is not always separated.
