Rageroot Oak Seeds
Rageroot Oak Seeds are berserking consumables carried by Zac Atwood. Each seed can force a surge of combat power or offset an existing weakened state, but the strain makes combining it with other berserking methods especially dangerous. (Chapters 561, 563, and 573–580)
History
Emergency reserves
Zac acquires a limited stock and initially treats the seeds as a last resort. Their effect overlaps with Hatchetman's Rage, so using both risks clashing energies and a far worse backlash. Even when weakened, he repeatedly weighs the immediate benefit against the possibility of leaving himself unable to fight afterward. (Chapters 561–563 and 572–580)
Spending the stock
The seeds become a recurring contingency in battles and escapes where ordinary recovery is too slow. Zac uses them to regain momentum or force his body beyond its current state, steadily reducing a supply that cannot be replaced casually. Their later appearances emphasize the choice to spend an irreplaceable advantage now rather than save it for a worse crisis. (Chapters 584–589, 654–659, 730, 739, 767–778, and 1035–1037)
Properties and use
- Berserking surge: A seed temporarily raises or restores combat output. (Chapters 561–563 and 573–580)
- Dangerous interaction: Combining a seed with another berserking method can produce conflicting power and extreme backlash. (Chapter 561)
- Consumable supply: Each use destroys one seed, making timing and remaining stock strategically important. (Chapters 563, 589, and 776–778)
Associated characters
- Zac Atwood: Carries the limited stock and decides when immediate survival justifies the cost and backlash of consuming a seed. (Chapters 561–563, 589, and 776–778)
