History
Naming the prayer band
After spending time learning the band's signals, Zac gives it the practical name Lucky Beads. Its warnings let him separate the hostility of nearby strangers from the distinct danger of a hidden conspiracy, proving useful without revealing every detail. (Chapters 1022 and 1025)
Following dangerous currents
Zac keeps the beads close during later campaigns and inheritances. Their reactions help him judge unseen pressure, navigate uncertain choices, and recognize when fate is gathering around a person or place. He never treats them as absolute proof, since skilled enemies and stronger treasures can obscure or manipulate what he senses. (Chapters 1031–1047, 1073–1095, 1137–1242, 1299–1352, and 1409)
