Biography

Role in the wider conflict

After killing Repubat Medhin and learning that the ruling family drew power from the Great Redeemer, Ylvas seeks out other leading climbers rather than hoarding his gains or continuing alone. He judges Zac dangerous despite his unevolved grade, shares intelligence about the Medhin, and proposes cooperation against their emperor. The choice turns a chance meeting between wary rivals into an alliance built around a common existential threat, while Ylvas's later cultivation explanations give Zac a clearer basis for evaluating E-grade classes and attributes. Appearance and personality

Ylvas first appears bloodied, pale, and carrying an erratic aura after fighting Repubat Medhin. He is direct about both his purpose and his preferred name, perceptive enough to sense the danger Zac represents, and pragmatic enough to offer information and wealth for help rather than pretend he can defeat the Medhin alone.
