Biography
Role in the wider conflict
During Zac's audience with senior commanders and hostile Havarok nobles, Tusko chooses to focus on the military value of Atwood ships rather than the charges surrounding the fortress expedition. His excitement over a coming shipyard upgrade draws the Everfast Monarch's attention and gives Zac a practical reason to remain useful to the alliance. Tusko later performs the uncomfortable search needed to settle official suspicions, recovers Ra'Klid, directs the fortress excavation, and offers Zac a way to supplement income as an apology. Their exchange of favors develops him from a noisy supporter into a working political ally who can help Zac navigate the aftermath without pretending the battlefield is free of self-interest. Appearance and personality
Tusko is a human larger than Billy, roughly a meter taller than other nearby humans and twice as wide. He is boisterous, direct, acquisitive, and openly delighted by competition, yet he can accept tedious duties and acknowledge when another faction deserves support. (Chapters 1161 and 1167–1170)

Tusko is a Hegemon known as the Twenty-Sixth's Iron Wall, a title suggesting exceptional defensive battlefield value.
