Thomas
Thomas Fischer is a human political leader who tries to preserve governmental legitimacy after the Integration and later rules isolated settlements inside a Technocrat research base.
Biography
Role in the wider conflict
Thomas begins amid the collapse of old-world authority, pressing for recruitment and the support of ranked cultivators so reconstruction can begin under a recognizable government. His need to preserve control later hardens into broken bargains with alien settlements trapped in the research base. When those allies surround him and demand the exit he withheld, Thomas refuses surrender. Remembering the purpose that once carried his people through the Tutorial, he activates an improvised atomic weapon inside the sealed facility. The choice denies his captors an easy victory but appears to end his own compromised rule and life. (Chapters 85 and 617)
Appearance and personality
Thomas is a burly human man by his last direct scene. He is initially quiet, worried, and focused on legitimacy; later, fear and accumulated compromise coexist with defiance. His final laugh and decision show courage without erasing the failures that brought desperate former allies to his door. (Chapters 85 and 617)
Abilities and cultivation
Thomas reaches E-grade and possesses an administrative override for the research-base systems. His combat path is not detailed. His decisive weapon is technical and prepared: an atomic device assembled inside the facility and activated through an array. (Chapters 431 and 617)
Items
No stable named personal item is confirmed. The atomic device and override are situational resources of the research base. (Chapter 617)
Relationships
Thomas works with old-world officials and seeks alliances with powerful rankers. His later relationship with captive alien communities collapses when promised freedom never arrives, turning former military cooperation into revolt. (Chapters 85 and 617)
