Teo Kastella is a Void Gate captain who evaluates Zac's false identity and leads the Zenith Vigil expedition into the Void Star.

Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Teo approaches recruitment as a working commander rather than a ceremonial examiner: he tests whether Zac can defend a ward, explains the economical limits behind the Void Gate's contract, and warns recruits about spatial beasts before deployment. When the expedition is battered by breaches and exhaustion, he repeatedly spends his own energy shielding the group and then distributes Space Anchors with direct survival instructions. The Spatial Cortex ultimately collapses and scatters the expedition, but Teo's intact life tablet confirms that his defensive specialization and decisions carried him through the disaster, even though the fate of most subordinates remains uncertain. Appearance and personality

Teo wears full-body armor and projects a pure, condensed aura marked by stability and impermeability. He is blunt, cost-conscious, and easily frustrated by cascading setbacks, yet he continues to protect weaker expedition members and gives recruits the information and equipment needed to survive unfamiliar spatial hazards. Abilities and cultivation

As a middle-stage Hegemon, Teo emphasizes endurance, defensive Dao, and direct interception. He can suppress his force to test a Half-Step defender, sustain protective skills over days, and is judged clearly stronger than ordinary Hegemons encountered later. Those defenses have finite energy reserves: prolonged protection leaves him visibly pale, and even his power cannot prevent the Cortex's collapse from scattering the squad. Items

Teo's armor supports his role as a defensive templar. He issues expensive Space Anchors to the expedition, but these remain Void Gate mission equipment that must be returned rather than his personal artifacts. (Chapters 864 and 876)
