Selas
Selas is the Ishiate Leader of the Hunt responsible for Winterleaf Village's protection during the first months after integration.
Biography
Role in the wider conflict
Selas has always protected Winterleaf as Leader of the Hunt, but integration makes that duty more uncertain: he waits at the teleporter without knowing whether an ally or a new disaster will emerge. After Zac helps destroy the beast threatening the village, Selas later closes the connection rather than leave his people exposed to anyone who might pass through. When they meet again amid tension between human and Ishiate camps, he acknowledges the earlier aid and introduces Zac as a friend. The cautious choice creates some awkwardness, yet it preserves the village without destroying the relationship that helps the Ishiate enter wider cooperation. (Chapters 95–97 and 132)
Appearance and personality
Selas is an Ishiate beastman and experienced hunter. He is protective, wary of uncontrolled travel, and visibly embarrassed when caution inconveniences an ally, but he does not evade responsibility for the decision. His introduction of Zac to Willow shows gratitude and a willingness to recognize friendship across species. (Chapters 95 and 132)
Abilities and cultivation
As Leader of the Hunt, Selas has practical tracking, hunting, and village-defense experience. He gains System cultivation after integration, but no exact level, class, named skill, or later grade is stated. His authority is communal rather than proof that he is the strongest Ishiate present. (Chapters 95–97 and 132)
Items
Selas uses ordinary hunting equipment, but no named enduring personal artifact is established.
