Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Ryan survives the disorder after integration by squatting in Zac's abandoned apartment, where his knowledge of the town forces him into the painful role of telling Zac how Robert Atwood died. Rather than pursuing political power when Port Atwood later prospers, Ryan chooses a small tavern and redirects his cultivation toward increasingly effective mead and liquor. That modest ambition still contributes materially: his food and drink help Zac recover and travel efficiently, while Ryan retains the atmosphere he values instead of building the commercial empire others expect. Appearance and personality

Ryan is introduced as a frightened level-19 youth who talks quickly when threatened. Years later he remains unpretentious, hospitable, and mildly embarrassed by his Zac-themed product names.
